Beautiful music. I'm just listening to the Pearl ep. Sure it's going to be as good or better than Annual Winter Depression. I love the shoegazy/ambient feel to it. [2]

Thank you for this interresting interpretation. About the title track, I think you're right it doesn't feel really well with the rest of the EP's atmosphere. I intended to make a track similar to Amesoeurs' "Troubles". I knew the forthcoming works would be even more departing from the black metal sound, so I allowed myself a last moment of violence... Something like that :) I think it would have been more appropriate for another project.

Overall, I really, really enjoy this. I was hoping for some more AWD type stuff, but this little switcharoo is quite pleasant. My only real gripe is the beginning of the title track...Errrr....that was quite ill fitting. Otherwise, great atmosphere and strong song writing throughout. I would give this a solid 80% approval rating based on that alone. Might have been 85% had that (in my estimation) ill fitting passage in question been excised.

"Pearls" is quite a departure from "Annual Winter Depression". I was anticipating some more post-BM but this is straight up shoegaze/post-punk/goth rock like Chameleons or Echo & The Bunnymen mixed with some of the darker Sisters Of Mercy stuff. "Car Wreck" is a very moving song, incidentally.

And for those who are interested (if there MIGHT BE some), I will record some new soon, that will maybe be released this summer. (These new songs were originally intented to be released last fall but I had to focus on my studies)

Would like to thank everyone who left nice comments, for the others, every constructive but negative comments are welcome too. It's nice when you begin to create and record music what is wrong with what you do, so you can improve your art. So telling me I'm a trend kid by some pseudo-misanthropic black metal trolls is not really useful to me, in any way. I saw some of you didn't like the MDB cover, I would like to know why (is it the voice, the drum machine that really sounds fake, the arrangements.. ?) Also about that "blackgaze" polemic. I think it's maybe usurpated to associate it with the 90's Shoegaze scene. Shoegazing is most of all a sense of soundscapes and a research about sound textures. There might be some influences, but the main technique stays close to Black Metal and Depressive Rock.

Everything atmospheric or even noisy is shoegaze these days. I agree with Oskoreii, though. Even though I don't like this that much. Many musical styles started out like that. If you're going to say that this is a trend then go ahead and criticize most death metal bands out there. Also criticize 80's goth bands, post-punk bands, screamo bands, and just about fucking any other musical style. I don't think anyone intentionally tries to fit into some kind of trend. They make music that they like, which is ofcourse influenced by the kind of bands they listen to. Re-define the word "trend" for yourself, please.

i really like this. many people seems to be annoyed by the fact that this genre (the so-called blackgaze) is trendy, but I consider it to be the new answer to Progressive Melodic Death Metal as made popular by opeth some fifteen years ago. Tha fact that many artists are supporting this genre is indeed a good thing. I consider the haters to be ignorant of the fact that every modern metal genre started out in a smiliar way. May blackgaze rule the next decade of experimental metal! I'm not attracted by trendiness at all, and this is equally full of emotion as the early "trve" black metal bands from my homecountry.
