I know this is only 3 years old at this point, but this just might be my favorite album of all time.

Usually I like it when the songs kinda flow into each other, but here it doesn't feel right. For example, the way "We are Chaos" doesn't naturally end and "Don't Chase the Dead" starts immediately, that ruins the expirience for me a lil bit. In general the album is still fine, there are some catchy melodies, choruses, nice dark atmosphere. I don't compare it to his previous albums, in my opinion all his albums since BV are about the same fine level

overall Manson vocals are nice but not so much at they should be, but in this album there's too much sad prog rock oriented music, I like for real only few songs on it

Didn't listened to it but funny to see that every new MM Album since 2012 is the best since Holy Wood....

I might have to agree with them strangely, this record is probably his best musically since HW.

Upon re-listening to this a few times I can safely say that the production took away a good bit of enjoyment that the instrumentals on this album may have brought and practically ruined it. The instrumentals are often dense with lots of instruments and atmospheric synths. Too bad you won't be able to hear them properly because it's all squished together in a fashion that makes you feel like you are listening to a mono version. If this album had better production like TPE had, for example, it would still have songs that don't quite scratch the itch with the choruses that you'd like to go juuuuust a little further with their melodies, but you'd at least be able to appreciate the atmospheric elements and the instrumental work.

Yo this album would be BANGER at a retirement home, I'm sure all the grannies would love it as an accessory to their bingo night shenanigans.

You are absolutely right. This album has a lot of instruments and details involved and even Mechanical Animals-like synths in some songs that you can't hear properly because it's all squished together in a mix. Nothing stands out because everything is in your face. No dynamic range whatsoever. lossless or not. This album would be at least 20% better if it wasn't so squished.

Dull and monotonous. Definitely one of the worst for me. Previous work was much better.

not as bad as his previous album but not necessarily better than, let's say, "The Pale Emperor".

First impressions: my least favorite album he's ever made. There are interesting moments throughout, and it explores new sonic/lyrical territory for Manson, but overall it feels kind of strained, scattered, and sloppy. It sounds closest to The High End of Low and Born Villain, with whispers of Heaven Upside Down, but it never matches the best moments from any of those records. "Don't Chase the Dead" is amazing, though: a wicked, atmospheric Bowie send-up.

The album has some decent songs closer to the end of the album. Some songs are almost great, but it feels like they fall just short of being great, juuust a little short, and that's the worst thing about it to me. It feels somewhat lacking in all departments after the smoky and bluesy The Pale Emperor which I like every song from, and Heaven Upside Down which had some amazing songs, lyrically and melodically, like Heaven Upside Down, Threats of Romance, and the 8-minute long epic that is Saturnalia, which is one of the most interesting and dark songs in his career. I pretty much like every MM era, I even enjoy Born Villain for its rawness, and this bluesy era that started with TPE is probably my favorite, but the songs on this album feel somewhat hollow and undercooked.

I don't know, I honestly think this is on par with The Pale Emperor, it seems like it takes the Eat Me, Drink Me's Gothick Rockiness to a next level and adds some Glam Rock flavour to it,I was not a big fan of Heaven Upside Down personally as I think that record was all over the place and a lot of the songs didn't feel like they were build that well, it also had some of his worst lyrics, imho. I think this album is a great improvement and sees Manson exploring some new areas, I find it personally to be a very exciting record and I utterly love almost all of the lyrics here.
