By the hand of Colombian producer Felipe Álvarez (Polen Records. Bomba Estéreo, Monsieur Periné, Calle 13, among others), and Costa Rican Mario Miranda (Producer and member of Patterns); "Chúcaro" was recorded between San José and Bogotá, being mixed at Red Bull Studio Los Angeles in collaboration with Eric Stenman (M.I.A., Awolnation, Deftones, Weezer).
Sexy, heavy and atmospheric, Chúcaro is a blend of Cocofunka's characteristically fusion essence in the band's sound. The new LP is divided between groove and dance songs, reggae, soul and tints of alternative indie rock. The whole album is colored with a dub and psychedelic spirit which brings it to be the most experimental sound showed by the band so far.
Faithful to their constant grow; the band now intends to reach the media and scenarios around U.S.A., Latin America and Europe that have been receiving the Latin alternative music proposals the recent years.
Cocofunka is getting ready to evolve to where their spirit leads them.
