Definitely the best electronic music EP of all time, and one of the best IDM releases ever.

This really is like if you threw Music Has the Right to Children and Geogaddi into a blender—it is the perfect sweet spot between the two. It points to Geogaddi’s darkness while still maintaining the innocence that Music Has the Right is all about. By 2002, however, that innocence had disappeared. Kind of heartbreaking how this ends with the hopeful “Zoetrope” but then immediately the new millennium stripped away whatever optimism remained about the future.

I'll admit I got a little doom and gloom there, though if only because this and Geogaddi do a good job of stirring those feelings up in me. Even if the future is tough to feel hopeful about, I think BoC showed with Campfire Headphase that pockets of optimism can still be found in the present, no matter the state of the world—lotta brightness on that album.

Also wanna say that for a while now you have been one of the people who most makes this site such a great place to be. It's always a treat to stumble upon one of your comments. I really enjoy seeing what you have to say about things, and have for quite some time.

I guess Tomorrow's Harvest's job was to seek and destroy these remaining pockets of optimism.

Me: Why do I love this so much? Wiki: It came from the same birth as Geogaddi. Me: Ah. Yes.

Went to the record store and looked at all the music for 2h. I don't have too much money right now, but wanted to leave with a 1 record to support I guess. I got this ep and I am not disappointed.

Zoetrope doesn't 'fit' with the sound of this EP, sure, but if you give it a chance there's a truly wonderful and hopeful essence that rounds off this 'trip' beautifully. Yes, in the purely sonic perspective the track is out of place. But when wanting more than just that 'chilled out sound', when smitten by where this EP is trying to bring you, Zoetrope ends up being a great conclusion to one of BoC's best ever releases.

Agreed with this. Upon returning to this EP Zoetrope gained an increased standing with me. I'd say Amo Bishop Roden is the weakest. Self titled and Kid For Today absolutely kill it, among the best tracks they ever put out.

Not the biggest fan of "Zoetrope" either, but the other 3 tracks are incredible.

If it wasn't for "Zoetrope", this would be my favorite BoC release after "Geogaddi". [2]
