yeah, my plans are pretty much just... live in ghent, and keep the job i have now. hah. and go to a lot of shows this summer. been in school for 5 years, it's gonna be nice to finally have a break and do nothing. you know how people "take a year off?" from school? I'm kinda just "taking a year off" from constantly trying to do the next thing. haha. much needed.

let's agree on a safe, non-awkward way to greet each other when we meet, haha. something we could get away with saying to the average person. & that's awesome, how do you like new york!? I have one more year of school and then I'm out - but I'm already got a job in my field. sort of

the new tune-yards record is fun and just in time for this warmer weather. i really love the new fleet foxes. and i've rekindled my love for beach house. i found a reggae band i actually like (which is amazing if you know me personally) called bedouin soundclash. and to end this grocery list, i recommend the new panda bear record is streaming over at NPR. btw have you declared a college yet?

actually girl talk is coming to norfolk so i'm just gonna go there since it's 10 minutes away. 9:30 club is always fun to dance at but they're really anal about people taking video of their shows for some reason (and being at girl talk means you HAVE to document what's going on). so i would go to the national if i were you. i've already seen GT at the norva so if last year's show is anything to go by, it's going to be a nonstop good time.

yep. haven't listened to them in a while though. how were the black keys last week? i missed them each time they were here this summer.

hah, lets see how built to spill or joanna newsom pans out for me. i just started getting into built to spill (and i don't want to be the fan in the audience who only knows a few songs) so i may not go. but joanna is a lot more probable, if i can get some people around me to go. both of these are richmond trips so carpooling is essential

haha, let's save the facebook terms for facebook. (though i am surprised that last.fm is still using a rather primitive social networking design) and i've been to the district for a total of four shows now: city and colour (lissie opened up for him, she almost stole the show), yeasayer, coheed and cambria with circa survive, and just recently i went to see crystal castles with rusko. all at the 9:30 club. what an amazing venue.

ah i'm heavy jealous you're going to see DP in DC. i hit some serious money troubles and i might miss all the good shows this fall. and yeah, i remember my senior year, i had too much fun. you should be looking forward to it. have you started looking at colleges? let me guess, VCU hahah

drake's great, i think he has the most crossover appeal out of any rapper to come out recently. he has a line in one of his songs that goes "and me doin a show is gettin everyone nervous, cause them hipsters gon have to get along wit them hood niggas." and he played VCU's homecoming and i heard from all my VCU friends that the crowd was exactly that, ahaha. as far as nick drake goes, i've never been into much older music :/ but that's because there's so much good stuff to enjoy right here and now

aww. i didnt even see that you were 16. i didnt really start going to shows until my senior year in high school so i know how that feels; it's a relief when you get into college and the concept of a "school night" doesn't apply to you anymore. why were you out in new york tho?

exactly. the xx sold out 9:30 Club before i could get my hands on a ticket. i'm not having the same thing happen to me with beach house and yeasayer so i got those tickets early. did you hear about how Wilco sold out RVA in 6 hours? it's all those fucking VCU hipsters, haha. richmond's craigslist has been going crazy with wilco ticket requests for a week now. and what do you mean by inopportune times?

well i go to ODU which is in Norfolk so the norva is just 10 minutes and this indie restaurant/venue called The Boot is located in norfolk as well...i go to Virginia Beach if i feel like going to a hardcore or metalcore show. richmond's not that bad to get to but they dont have but so many good shows. apparently DC is where every single great indie band wants to tour this year.
