Hi there!!!!! =D Just came back from a festival in Mexico City... the best line-up ever in my country: Jon Hopkins, Egyptrixx, Pantha du prince, Kangding Ray, Roman flugel, Oneohtrix Point never, Siete Catorce, Deadbeat, Lawrence, Axel Bomann, Bon Frost and Andy STOTT!! wow! those three days were a blast!... Jon Hopkins was a beast! If it were a competition he would have been the undisputable winner of the event... anyway, I was so so thrilled to see Andy Stott live, I got to speak with him for barely a minute, amazing guy! Miles Whittaker was there (a little stoned) but he said: "I just like to have fun you see!"=D it was great to be able to finally see some of those guys live. The experience is so different than hearing them at home. ...I'm still processing everything...

Hei. I guess im a little dissapointed by the new Aphex Twin. It doesn't feel like a proper new album, but its good. That NehruvianDOOM album is good. Sounds like classic MF Doom. Havent heard Scott Walker & Sunn O))), need to heck that out. And yes, always look fwd to something new from FlyLo :)

On an unrelated note: Yesterday I was hearing Ricardo Donoso, and because of him I found Paul Jebanasam... It's blowing my mind!... It's going to the top along with Ben Frost!!

What I do find in Syro, is that he's much more detail oriented. The music is very delicate, even when he's not fully submerging into songs like "4", every piece has his signature sound, and this time it seems like he was not in a hurry. Every piece feels "complete". The album is well rounded, emotive at times, I liked it very much... I just had a hard time readjusting my views because I had completely different expectations.

I really didn't know how to express my views about the new aphex. Being him my most loved artist, I can tell you that I always saw him as a leading musician and composer. I never heard during 1992-2001 any other artist as "cutting edge" as him. He represented for me: innovation. And thus, what I expected from him was to hear what a master mind like his had for us, what we were "missing". In retrospect, that expectation was childish or maybe delusional. In the last 11 years I had an exponential growth in my listening habits, I've been in and out of the deepest-darkest music corners, only to come out once in a while for fresh air and look what the rest of the world is hearing (i know you know what I'm talking about)... and it's illogical to expect that Aphex was going to give us something totally different from his signature... (or maybe under this moniker at least)...

Bug is crazy. New Aphex? He made a statement some months about something but I forgot what it was about. What else is good? My box is still open.

Hei. Sorry for the late reply. Been very bizzy at work lateley. A lot of listening not a lot communication :) I dont really know much about Cabaret Voltaire, but i've been going through some of their old records over the past few months. Recently i've been listening to Cloudface, FKA Twigs, Moiré and Lee Gamble... all very good. Also looking forward to the new Bishop Nehru & MF Doom witch is coming out next week if i'm not mistaken. To much music, so little time :)
