Have you ever heard of Wire? I bet every band in your top 10 overall (besides madonna) would cite Wire as an influence or appreciate their music. Jane's Addiction and RHCP for sure. If that video did anything for you check out the albums: Pink Flag, Chairs Missing and 154.

I came over just to scrutinise. Applaud your appreciation for Pink Floyd. One of my favourite artists. But Madonna ... seriously? Actually, I applaud that too. One of my favourite questions to ask is: "What's your favourite Madonna song? (and don't say you don't like Madonna)". Mine is Borderline.

I remember when MTV played music, life before MTV and when records were made of wood.

Ahh yes Remember when MTV used to play music videos? that was a great time...YO MTV RAPS! <> Sunday Bloody Sunday is a great one! And IDK how i feel about live albums. I love live shows but for some reason i want a clean crisp Studio album. I think its because they are easier to sing along to?

Im listening to your rec right now... I like it. I would have ate this shit up in the early 90's. Hmmm, Excel is thrash?... I've noticed Caroline Records is a little heavier than I previously thought. I just looked over their roster. <<>> I can only imagine your ween fatigue... Hell, I listened to Pure Guava for 3 years before trying chocolate & cheese and the others.

I was looking through your library and saw that you listened to Prince Buster albeit twice. You must have got that from me (via mrmocha). Just FYI the 2 tracks you listened to are not the best representatives of his music. I have loved ska since 1979 when the ska revival took England by storm. And no ... ska is not punk. (Well ... except ska punk ambient trip-hop transient shitgaze weirdo beard-core fusion). But it's still all rock and roll to me.

My only advice with Ween, since you have so much on that drive, there's a good chance you'll find yourself in a sea of brown. Stick with Pure Guava, Chocolate and Cheese and The Mullosk to start. Those three albums are like episodes 4-5 and 6 of the star wars trilogy... (ie) classic.

It was Ween that actually got me into Motorhead. "Its gonna be a long night" on Quebec I think ... was described as a Motorhead reverence. Ween are all over the place. Tear for Eddie actually reminds me of Pink Floyd. Don't like their reggae covers (Fruit Man) ... felt they were taking the piss. But that's the big Q : Is Ween making fun of you if you enjoy listening to them??? They certainly can indulge in "wankery". Godweensatan. But they are obviously talented musicians. Tongue in cheek. But how far in is the tongue? If you know what I mean.

Judging Ween by one song is like deciding if you like beef jerky by eating the silica gel packet at the bottom of the bag. [2]<<>> 1. That shout is freaking awesome, and also very true! 2. They are musical geniuses and they cater to the lover of any music genre. I <3 them very much!!! 3. Your musical compatibility with mdwhaley is Low 4. * Red Hot Chili Peppers (161 plays) Really? 5. Can we be friends? ;)

You picked the best two Moistboyz albums for sure. It's a pretty substantial drop off after that... They kind of lost their edge. Z-Rock is definitely an acquired taste but I admire the fact you're trying it. <<>> I was surprised not to find any Butthole Surfers in your cds.

Ween playlist catered specifically for "working out": Old Queen Cole (god ween satan), Sketches of Winkle (the pod), Hey Fat Boy (pure guava), I Can't Put My Finger On It (chocolate & cheese), Piss Up A Rope (12 golden country greats), I'll Be Your Jonny On The Spot (the mollusk), Stoker Ace (white pepper), It's Gonna Be A Long Night (quebec), My Own Bare Hands (la cucaracha)... that's a one song sample off every album.

Glad to see you getting the Led out. Next time you see mrmocha see if you can work some RHCP evangelism. He is a non-believer. Heathen. Infidel. I actually need to listen to more of them. Went through a phase pre-last.fm. Listen to the heck out of Blood Sugar ... and One Hot Minute.

I agree as far as Led Zep I. Fantastic even though they are mostly blues covers (Willie Dixon in particular) . Rock 'n' roll though! I used to have a cassette tape with Dark Side on one Side and Wish You Were Here on the other. Would drift to sleep with it almost daily during my student days. Shine on You Crazy Diamond is sublime.

Welcome! Great start! I am profoundly grateful to have seen Pink Floyd live twice. What's your fave album? Mine is Animals. But Money is your top track? So ... is Stairway to Heaven your fave Led Zep track? Oh BTW, there is no music snobbery here ... whatever floats your boat.
