Thank you four thousand times for telling the world that Matthew Greener and Ali Clewer have formed a new band after Morning Runner broke up two years ago. You just made my day, if not my week, month, year, life, whatever!

ha, i know what you mean about going into a kind of musical desert. I lived in LA for 2 yrs and every time I was in say Oregon, all I got was country music. Went down to California a year and a half ago, but this time with internet radio! Anyway, my folks have a cottage on an island (Galiano) just across the strait from Vancouver. If I ever move back there, I'm not going to live in the "big city" but maybe on the island. Some people actually commute there. Me, I'd be relying on the internet more.. No rush hour for me. Thing is, Vancouver's really out there travel-wise. You fly an hour and where are you? In Calgary. Here in Europe....

My suggestion: go west and take a trip to Vancouver to see it for yourself (unless you already have). Musically, it might be less than what you'll see in England, mind you. :-) Various bands have come from there, like Bryan Adams, Nickelback, Michael Buble, New Porno's (my cousin worked on a couple of their albums), plus others I can't think of right now.

Vancouver is a lovely city. I just hope that it doesn't keep growing. And the nice green trees come at a price: rain. I don't care for rain.. :-) All in all, I'd rather live in the a warm country. Thanks about Eels; I'm lukewarm on him/them, but they do have a few nice songs. But musically speaking, I'm an Anglophile, meaning that say 80-90% of what I listen to comes from the UK. Call it my personal bias. :-) Or call me musically precocious!

And I recognise and like lots of bands on your list too! In fact, I'm from Vancouver (where my heart still is, I suppose), but now live in Holland. Quick question, what's your take on Eels?

We play quite a few of Brian's Christian songs in our church band, and we have seen him lots of times. At first we thought he didn't do his Christian songs at secular gigs. But I was at Christian Aid gig, and even in a Sunday evening church service that he was leading and all he did was his latest album. I've never heard him do any of his Christian music.
