Someone sent me Spotify when it was a free app, otherwise I wouldn't have it either. In between times you can get nearly anything on here, and via the Youtube embedded link.

Hi FT, yeah if you have Spotify you can play the lists, though I just make them to amuse myself, just to see whether you can get to about 40 tracks. It's great for playing whole albums too or the related tracks list on Last.fm. I only have the free version.

Just 'cos you've been listening to Snoop Dogg (or Lion or whatever he goes by now) you go all ghetto on ma ass :)

Yes, thanks for that, I do love that show. Though it's partly a sci fi, partly a nostalgia thing. Of course it was remarkably portentious. The future did contain Sky 1, a channel for showing repeats from American TV. Montefiori Cocktail, remind me a bit of Corduorouy, the group that did Acid Jazz covers like "Mini" in the early nineties. Worth checking out if you haven't heard of them.

Yes, I meant to say that Hair, holds some fascination for me also. It is one of those Round the Corner of your Mind things from childhood, like Julie Driscoll. Though ironically it was only recently that I started exploring the tunes, thanks in part to your good self introducing me to the YouTube archive. I always knew about Aquarius and about it being a big hit in the late Sixties/early Seventies, but for some reason I imagined the tunes were naff. I didn't know "I Got Life" was from it, and I was only dimly aware of "Good Morning Starshine."

That was a good call. Yes, I should like this, in that it's got all the elements I like, psychedelic, harmonies, soul, 60- ish. Just needs a tighter tune.

On the subject of 5D (as we afficiandos refer to them) you should check out Youtube, because their lead singer Marilyn McCoo is very easy on the eye. As someone points out on the shouts on YouTube, the other lady isn't bad either, but kind of pales by comparison. A latter day equivalent to Kelly Rowland and Beyonce.

Yes the two albums I bought don't have Road to Cairo on them. There's an album called 1969 which will have to be purchased too. I'm currently getting into Fifth Dimension big time, but don't tell anyone else, because they are a bit camp. So unfortunately unless these ladies don't mind a bit of how shall I put it, hissy fits, tantrums, excessive neatness, fashion tips and bitching about what bastards men are, don't invite them.

Now that you've probably formed an opinion on Jools and Brian, I have to say I much prefer the stuff that she has written or sang on compared to the bands instrumental efforts. I also notice that we have reached "Super" on the compatability measures. The meter has turned red which must mean that's dangerous.

Glad you approve. I have always loved This Wheel's on Fire, but have only recently become aware of the other stuff. Actually I played Czechoslovakia and one other track on Last.fm and thought they're not that good. That's what happens when you just play the opening tracks to albums, they are probably just album filler tracks. It was the Youtube vids that got me into the good stuff. I've subsequently purchased two of their albums in the last week.
