Good Evening ... Hi, I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed: "Remove the last.fm Beta Website Design" http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/lastfmbeta I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes just a few seconds of your time. Thanks!

Hi! Lovely to hear from you again. It's been along time, I suppose since I pretty well stopped listening to last.fm since it went entirely youtube. I do keep scribbling though - not entirely sure why. I like that Monks Kitchen version of Sam Cooke's Shake - I wouldn't have recognised it though. Had to go back to the Otis Redding version and listen carefully to the lyrics! I am well - although been pretty busy. You?

lastFm lost it, becoming (or remaining) a true social network compared to facebook. Was it that difficult installing a 'like' option on any shouts you find anywhere? Why can't i add a message about 'why' i just loved a tune on that useless page 'loved by friends'? And why am i supposed to listen only 1 track by Carla Bozulich if i play that 'artist radio' and all the rest would be about what bots and algorithms regard as 'similar'? Since radio has stopped also,to me it's just like another wiki to help me keep up with artists' names, tracknames and my own listening stats. If any new artist exites me, i get a full load on Spotify, even in the free version, just have to enter like 'Lindi Ortega' and get all there is. Only reason for hanging on to suscription is just keeping ads away.. (sad smiley)(they don't even give you that) Lindi Ortega is awesome, btw

Hi! Hope things are good with you. I've been so busy recently I hadn't been listening to last.fm so much recently, and was just about to start again (even thinking about subscribing) and I find they're stopping radio streaming. Oh well, I suppose that's it then. I'll listen to 8 Tracks more again, although it's more work than last.fm

I'm finally checking out that link you shared to a song by Connan Mockasin. Bizarre and beautiful. Thanks for sharing! Has Death Vessel grown on you anymore? I still love him but haven't listened in quite awhile. I'm pretty much obsessed with Euros Childs at the moment. I had missed out on his two previous albums and have been listening to him everyday! Hope your new year started off well!

I haven't been on my profile here in so long and just saw your message to me! thanks for your nice message. It's nice to connect with someone who gets my love for Euros Childs. I will be sure to check out the link you shared.. and I hope you've had a chance to listen to Death Vessel. What do you think?

Hey, thanks for popping by, I hope you found a little something to your taste while you were there. Some great tracks in your library will have to give it a listen for some new stuff...I'll keep things tidy I promise. :)

SO... is this the big Baptist Generals day?? I wish you many more (even if they don't have a new release) :)) Your recommendations/vids were excellent as always.. especially dug the Sam Sweeney/Hannah James: truly a chill-jerker! Ha- I was mentally laughing at Bill's facial contortions too; must keep him young :) And never thought much - nor heard - much of Scout Niblett - aside from her ties to Howe. Nor thought much of her till now. But that Nasty Boys cover was hilarious and fantastic. I still think her name sounds like a trail mix for ;) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Anne-Marie! Live it up! :D

Oh poor you! heh Have you managed to keep your hands off of it? Does someone need to hide it from you until the Big Day? And when is that? ^-^ Department of Eagles: a nice one! And though you're an established fan of Smog, and i'm a complete newbie, here's a fine little performance I just discovered. Happy week :)

Yep, they are a little precise. Guess it comes from previous experience & avoids the hassle but it does seem to suck the fun out of it. Still, they're supposed to be a hoot live. Mebbe it's just I'm sure they're well-versed on the whole house party scene, and have good reasons to know what they're talking about. I can't even think of anyone with a living room that size that would be willing to host 40-60 revelers... but I'm a-thinkin! Pre-eclampsia vs Dowd and the BGs? tough choice, and glad you all made it out alive! Haven't seen Wrong-Eyed Jesus, and yep, Mister Dowd I find rather intimidating. Go A-M: work, listen, work, listen.... :))

Thanks for that link: I'll throw it around to see if it sticks somewhere; wish it were as easy as "Make it so": some of those requirements make it a little tougher sell, heh With Johnny Dowd you say? That would've been something. I'm still waiting for him and Tom Waits to have a musical duel. Where DID they get the money for these vids??

Your restraint is something of legend, A-M... only half a dozen... that's like just "half", right! Perhaps Flemmons' fights with town hall are being exorcised in his music? I hear it! All Harry Met Sally!! LOL That would be fairly awesome to have them play in my living room... I may actually know of a place, hm. I'll send them your way once they've finished the set. :)) Oh, and happy birthday if I forget - remind me!

You don't really think /I/ am going to stand between you and the Baptist Generals, do you?? lol Is it true - their first in 10 years? Are you doing somersaults on the couch too? I would stop you from ordering all the other dozen albums, but I fear I'm too late for that ;) Let me know how it is, and you... have a great time anticipating the arrival of that package !! :D

Ohh... 'No Other'! Do you just shout until you run out of characters?? haha No worries about the late- or non-lateness... always great to hear what goodies you come up with :) and you're right: the shoutbox has been getting a workout! Mali: not a pretty place with all the fanatics running around there, too... ignorance is not pretty, and often dangerous to artists. Loved both the Andra Kouyate, and especially his "missus" LOL As you say, the ululations give me shivers. Here's one that should do the same for you - from a most excellent album, "Music From Mauritania"... will definitely roll your socks up and down. Phoenix Foundation was nice too - the best track being the longest, something I haven't heard happen too often. I'm not done with Czarface either... won't let it go at just one listen. Now I'm off to be independently American... happy days, and thanks for the smiles! :))

Thanks to your wallet, then :) The Bombino: awesome (I love Malian music - it IS Malian, right?), Czarface: jury still out, Youth Lagoon: nice! And a new Howe album? Awesome! (just hope it's got more oomph than the last few - will be getting it anyway, of course) I'm glad you're ... uh... "taking it easy" on the new music LOL and mucho thanks for pushing some of it my way ;) Hope you're keeping the social visitors at bay - a fine week to you, Anne-Marie!

and... now I KNOW you're Irish: what a story :D The "Boredloms Incident" has me rolling with laughter - tears!! I'm sure that just listening to the Boredoms is a hanging offense in less enlightened countries, but using it as playtime soundtrack is HILARIOUS! Sounds like you survived the community service, and public whippings though, so am glad of that. Did you get to keep the kids? ;) and about "Is the Actor Happy?", I'm already loving it. Will return to it with more undivided attention soon, but this could be the one to push me over to rabid fan status... your evil plot is working. you're 100% about the way he draws out his words: so cool!

Alright, no sympathy for you then... but you must get to work on that listening, and no more recs from me until you get thru that stack and the chocolate :) Pretty impressive, this Alasdair Roberts - esp liked Dighty Burn (really have to be in a "mood" for pure folk, but there you go). If I could only understand all that brogue... maybe it's easier on a barge (!) - a concert experience I've never had! you can be sure I'll be listening to more of both Alasdair and Olivia soon, so thanks for the tip. And I see you've done your research on C.Knox - what the HELL is going on here? Perhaps it is us: you'll have to lend me your portable quarantine kit for my next show too. Yep, it'll be our little secret LOL

Oooh - like a cross between the Boredoms and Melt-Banana! Oddly fascinating: are they eating Fukushima cornflakes?! Glad you're digging Mr Knox, and on the topless women theme, you may want to preview his Toy Love output with Photographs of Naked Ladies ;) A brilliant lyricist, and just generally outspoken all around... search for the multi-part "Flying Nun Doc" on youtube when you've got some time to be amazed. You've been banned for TWO WEEKS from new music? How can it be borne? (just glad the in-gig purchase didn't tally) LOL Which gig - anything good?

It was the best Field Day I've been to (my 4th, I think). Managed to pack in 11 different bands (not their entire sets obviously). Highlights for me were Savages (boy, do they mean it maaan), Charlie Boyer (sneery but tuneful) and Metz (the Big Black you could take home to meet your parents, such polite young men considering the racket they make).
