Hey, that's excellent! Whenever the opening act plays as good or a better set than the headliner, that's always a good thing. But at the same time, how many times have a seen a really, really good opening act that you 've haven't heard from since? I can think of two bands that were very excellent opening acts for Wilco, that I haven't seen or heard anything from in years: Elf Power and Blanche. Glad you had an enjoyable night of music.

I guess I'm a little bummed out because I thought I had more cds than I actually do. Guess I've curbed my spending habits in such a way. Which is a good thing, right? I don't have an ipod or an mp3 player, which means I buy my music. I like the idea of the cd, or if I collected vinyl, vinyl. I like the materialistic-ness of having, physically, this little bit of someone's art. I like the liner notes and the lyrics and the pictures and the hidden jokes, that of course I don't get, etc. Anyways, I shouldn't be too sad, because what I got, in my cds, I like. And that's all that counts, yeah?

I've made a decision, that frankly, took me way too long to get to. Are you ready? The decision is this: I'm going to put all my music on my computer this weekend. It really shouldn't take too long, because, mysteriously, my collection seems to be shrinking. Has that ever happened to you? I really thought I had more music than I actually do, and that makes me sad.

I saw a bunch of Phoenix in your library. Youuuuuuu should listen to Tame Impala...very Phoenix-esque. Not as polished and pop-oriented as them, but there's something familiar about them. I don't know. Give em a shot. Do it.

...But aren't the hardest questions the most fun to answer (sometimes)? I love the Flaming Lips and I was lucky enough to see them with Sonic Youth back in 2006, and wow, was that a fun show. 2 seconds, it seemed, after they went on, a deluge of confetti rained down on the audience. It was like going to the circus. And of course the Lips played this amazing set, with them ending the show with Black Sabbath's "War Pigs". Man, that was fun. I was fucked up, but I remember a lot of it. How 'bout that?!

Hyperbole more fun than anything on the planet. Okay, I need to stop....I live in the great Northwest...Ohio, that is. It's got its moments. Uneventful, sometimes depressing moments, but moments nonetheless. You're a westie, yes? Coooool. I've been out as far west as Colorado Springs. Which meant I had to go through Nebraska, and I just wouldn't wish that on anybody....What's your favorite live musical experience of ALL TIME?

Wooden Sjhips. I'm officially insanely jealous right now. I'm serious, I'm throwing quite a hissy right now...I don't have a plans in the foreseeable future to see anybody. I saw Mogwai and This Will Destroy You back in May...two different and glorious face-melting experiences. I think I need to see Dead Meadow as soon as humanly possible. I think the fate of the world depends on me seeing Dead Meadow. I'm full of hyperbole today. Yea!!

AND I've listened to yours, too. Here's some of the stuff that stood out from your library: Hercules and Love Affair; Shrift (liked it, but was expecting something to happen that didn't); Depeche Mode (fun stuff...and OUT there); Chemical Brothers (again, bless your heart); of course Massive Attack (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3Cl6iZF0ZE)...so yeah, big thumbs up! You have a lot more electro/chillout stuff than I do, which means I have to start expanding my musical tastes even more. Thanks!
