Yo! The statement you left in August, i.e. "I will respond soon" is starting to feel a little doubtful. (^_~) I don't intend to nag, or anything, considering how I have left you hanging for the better part of a year in the past, I would just like to let you know that I miss writing with you, and that I hope you find time in your obviously extremely busy schedule at some point to get back to me. (^_^) *hugs*

Again, that's what it's there for, haha. I faitfully mark each and every song I come across that I love as a loved track. Anyway, just like you I still favor SNSD the most, by far, and Mr. Taxi was an awesome song. I have bought all of their latest merchandise. :-P Anyway, this "letter" is coming to an end. I took a lot less than 10 months this time, at least. :-)

Finally, starting May 19, I was fed up with my meds and my bad eating habits, and I went back on my good diet. A little slow at first, but I'm back at eating well, and the graph is again going in the downwards direction: http://weightmonitor.org/user/alex/range/2011-05-19/* (^_^) I recently jumped from "Obese" to "Overweight" according to the ranges of BMI considered such. As for your weight and height, you are smack dab in the middle of "normal" weight, which is considered healthy. I'm sure you'll find a man one day who likes your toned powerful thighs, haha. My fiancée has such thighs, and I am a fan. (^_~) Taylor time is soon over! I'm replying to your last shout now. Phew, this shout is LOONG! I'm on my 15th shout now! I don't really feel like enumerating which k-pop groups I've started listening to. Just look at my last.fm profile, that's what it's there for anyway, haha. (^_~) As for what new favorite songs I have, just see my list: http://www.last.fm/user/dphoenix/library/loved

I've never felt better in my entire life since I started eating this way, my weight is dropping without my limiting my caloric intake (I am serious, throughout my eating like this, I have not counted calories once; I eat when I am hungry, and I eat until I am satisfied every time.) and I have more energy than I've ever had. I record my weight pretty much daily, so here are some graphs for you to look at. First, my weight loss between December 15 last year until January 24: http://weightmonitor.org/user/alex/range/*/2011-01-24 This was my most consistent and most dramatic change. Between January 25 and April 15, I was on some medication that completely screwed with my system, and my weight loss halted. Add to that that my mom died, and so I picked up some of my old eating habits, and I ate pretty terribly. Still, if you look at the graph, I didn't gain any weight back: http://weightmonitor.org/user/alex/range/2011-01-25/2011-04-15

http://balancedbites.com/2010/06/canola-oil-may-be-paleo-diet-approved-but-i-wont-eat-it.html 5) Avoid legumes. Like grains, they contain anti-nutrients. 6) Be careful with fruits. A few a day are fine, but they are pretty much just sugar. 7) Be careful with dairy if you have any sensitivities (I don't personally follow this rule; I don't seem to have issues with dairy.) On to the final step: 8) Eat whatever not eliminated through the steps above. I mostly eat meat, fish and eggs. I eat one fruit one some days, and strawberries when I feel like it. I don't like vegetables, so I don't eat them. Through my research, I've found them to be non-essential anyway. Again, all my claims can be backed up with bunches of resources, so if you are interested in more details, or if you question any of my claims, let me know, and I'll point you in the direction of whatever resources I have. Phew, that's it. I can go on about my diet for hours, lol. This diet is magical.

Contrary to what the government tell you, grains contain lots of harmful anti-nutrients. 3/4 of all humans have varying degrees of intolerances for grains. I have so many resources to point you at regarding this claim that I could literally have you reading about it for 6 months non-stop. In fact, I should say here and now, so you don't think I just jumped on this diet without thinking: I researched these things I am now telling you for 5 months before even starting the switch to eating this way, and ever since I did, I have kept up my research, just finding more and more sources to confirm that what I am doing is the right thing. Anyway, moving on: 4) I avoid as best I can any oils made from grains, seeds and legumes. That means I avoid things like canola oil, soy oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, etc. These oils are artificial, created in factories using horrible methods. We're not meant to eat that crap. To learn how canola oil is made (and what it does to the body) check this link:

For the most thorough information on how I eat, you should read this article. It's pretty much a perfect description of how I eat: http://www.archevore.com/panu-weblog/2011/3/30/paleo-20-a-diet-manifesto.html However, just in case you're not feeling like reading that, I will sum the article up for you. My diet is a so called "elimination diet". That is to say, rather than give rules on what I should eat, I place rules on what I shouldn't eat, and if a food I come across is not eliminated through this process, I'll eat it. So, in sum, this is how I eat: 1) I don't eat sugar whatsoever. It may sound hard, but after a few weeks, the cravings more or less go away. 2) I don't avoid fats in general. Especially not saturated fats. Going completely against the conventional wisdom, I believe they are the second healthiest fat (monounsaturated being the healthiest), and I eat them both frequently and in large quantities. 3) I don't eat any grains or grain-based products.

He is the only candidate whose long-term goals for the United States, and if he's elected and gets his ideas through, I'd feel a lot less bad about moving there. He actually wants to reduce the power of the federal government, and repeal all these crazy-ass laws that Bush (and unfortunately, that Obama extended) enacted. I have indeed LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT!!11 XD And now, I've lost even more. I've lost another 2.3 kg, so my total is now at 16.8 kg down. That is to say, I now weigh 91.5 kg. When I reach 88 kg, I'll be weighing no more than I did in 2007. That's right, I haven't weighed that little since 2007. I weighed 88 kg when I first visited my fiancée back in 2007. Okay, I will indulge with you my "secret". I have two versions. First, the extremely simplified version: I eat very-low carb. That is to say, I eat no more than 20 g of carbohydrates in a day. That is "all I do". Now for more details, which will detail that that's far from "all I do", lol. XD

*hugs* Thanks for your condolences. I'm fine about talking about my mom. Due to my very strong emotional health, I got over my mom's death pretty quickly. That is not to say I don't miss her, though. I'm sad she will never be in my life any more, and that she never got to experience grand-children, and that my children will be without her as their grandmother. Also, the fact that she was very sick over a long period of time before dying meant I had ample time to prepare for her eventual death, so it was quite different than had she died instantly, like in a car crash or something. Yes, it would seem that most Americans are very ignorant of what's going on in their country. My "wifey" and I have decided that in the long term, we will be moving to the US, as she wants. I truly and strongly hope that Ron Paul is elected as president of the US in 2012.

My point being, we don't have that over here. All meat here is CAFO, all chicken is fed corn and soy. It's one of the things I'm strongly looking forward to if we move to the US. That being said, I don't see anything wrong with you needing to experience life outside the US for a while. Experience the world, as it were. I also had that desire when I was a little younger, but reality has caught up with me, and I no longer have the time or means to do so. Seize the opportunity while you are still young and don't have any attachments or obligations that prevents you. Yep, it had been ten months since we last talked. Now it's already been two months since I last wrote you. I'll try not to feel bad. It makes me happy to know that you miss our conversations when we're not talking. And yes, I do care about my odd American friend, haha. (^_^) She's not actually my wife yet, but I don't actually care that much if you call her "wifey". XD

Sure, you have the most fast food places and the most junk food, but what most people seem to miss, even the very citizens of the US itself, is that you also have SO MUCH healthy stuff. At farmer's markets (unheard of here) you can get the freshest fruits and vegetables. You can get grass-finished (the cows were allowed to eat their natural food (grass) their whole lives, instead of being force-fed corn, soy, and other grains and legumes that make them sick) non-CAFO (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation: A whole bunch of animals stuffed together with barely any room to move being force-fed a diet they can't handle, so they are also pumped with antibiotics their entire life) beef. You can get pastured chicken and eggs, i.e. they are free-range and they eat their natural diet of seeds and insects that they find on the ground, rather than eating nothing but corn and soy beans. I could go on.

I think the reason your economy is going to hell is because you use so much money on the military. The US military budget for 2010 was a whoopin' $685.1 billion. For 2012, the budget is $1.030–$1.415 trillion. Seriously. Imagine how much improvement you could do to all your other issues if you took that money and spent it on schools and other civil things instead. Now, I'm not an economist, so what I think is probably worth squat, but those are my two cents. I can't speak for other nations with Free Healthcare, but at least in Norway, you don't have to be a citizen to get that advantage. You just have to be a resident. So in fact, as soon as my fiancée gets her permit, she's eligible for it. When it comes to the "grass being greener on the other side", that depends entirely on what you value. I believe, and this is no joke, that the US can be one of the healthiest places to live.

They truly are the most basic things you can say, so it's good that you at least know those. Like I said, I don't really know much more than those, plus a few words that I don't know enough Korean to use in context yet. Speaking of the American government; my fiancée really misses the US (Well, mostly her friends and family, but since we can't bring them here, it's effectively like missing the US) so we're discussing moving there after we've gotten married, since immigration for me will probably be a lot simpler once we're married than if we were to try right now. While I do find that there are advantages to living in the US; for many of the things I care the most about, the US is a horrible place to be. Some of my passions are personal privacy, the right to private communication, and copyright duration reduction. All of these are, to the best of my knowledge, not well preserved in the US, especially not since 9/11 and the fucking Bush administration's invasions in people's rights.

It's sad how little time there is to do stuff. I feel like I do lots of things all the time, yet I have nothing to show for it... Aha! You just gave me a grammar Nazi opportunity! You don't "loose knowledge", you "lose knowledge". Lose = be defeated, misplace; loose = not tight, slack, unrestricted. Anyway... (^_~) I'm on my FOURTH shout to you, and I haven't even finished replying to your FIRST shout. If this trend keeps up, you're in for a LONG "letter". The problem about the plan of testing each other's Korean every week, in addition to my unwillingness to plan for things in the first place, is that we don't communicate on a weekly basis. So while your plan is good, in the current state of our friendship (I'd call us pen-pals) your plan is not feasible. So, while we cannot test each other weekly, we could possibly test each other like... every six months? Haha, it's cool that you understood my Korean tourist phrases.

I think I've pretty much got this English language thing nailed now. (^_~) Okay, I won't apologize for replying late to you anymore. We both realize we're both busy with other things, so whatever time it takes us before we can reply isn't something we should be sorry for. Quite the contrary, I must say I was impressed with the speed of your reply. If I recall correctly, you pretty much replied the same day I made you aware of my shouts to you. Do you know what is causing this lethargic attitude in you? I know I get lethargic when I eat the wrong things; more about that later when I get to the section about my diet. I need to update my "about me" too. While I think the one I currently have is a good one, I feel like it is time for some change. I've had it for close to a year now. In fact, I'm going to set it to something completely stupid right now, so I'll be forced to update it soon... there. Now it's rather empty.

The exception being vacations, where you'd like to get as much done as possible. In those situations, you sort of have to plan. Wow, quite a disgression there. Back to the topic at hand: Regardless of whether we remember it or not, I'm certain it had an impact on us, because everything we do shapes us in some way or another. We humans are so extremely malleable. Haha, I don't mind if you call me a grammar nazi; I used to call myself that for a long period of time in my teens. I still care a lot about proper spelling and grammar, but I am not as adamant about pointing out people's mistakes anymore. Most people seem to take offense to it. (^_~) I don't mind when people do it to me, but I could understand how it can be annoying, since it's usually 100% off-topic in the conversation, and it can also serve to make the other person seem dumb, depending on how easily offended they are. I can't remember the last time anybody pointed out a mistake of mine, though...

I'm like you there, I remember our conversations were thought-provoking and engaging, but if you asked me what we talked about, I wouldn't really have a clue what we talked about. It doesn't matter though, I'm the kind of person who lives in the now so I'm more interested in what we can talk about now than what we talked about in the past. So yeah, speaking of living in the now; I don't like to dwell on the past, because one cannot change the past. That being said, I do try to learn from the past. I just won't dwell on things. Additionally, I don't plan very much for the future. There are so many things that can change and by the time you're where you "planned" to be, you've probably either had to change your plan gazillions of times, or you've just given up your plan entirely. Hence, I don't plan much further ahead than that I know I can pull my plan through. Typically I don't plan for much more than a week.

Just 5 hours of sleep? If I get that little sleep, I tend to be tired and grumpy all day. I usually go to bed at 22 and get up at 6. (And yes, that's another thing I don't like, your A.M/P.M stuff. XD) Funny thing is, I haven't used an alarm in months, I just go to bed at 22 and I tend to wake up on my own between 6 and 7. Since I don't leave for work until 9, that leaves plenty of time for getting ready. Since we last spoke I've started listening to a lot more kpop groups than just SNSD. Thanks to last.fm's radio feature, I've been introduced to a lot of new artists and groups. I still like SNSD much more than any other group, though, and I think it'll be that way forever. They are just so much more talented than any other group. I even think their solo projects are better than other solo artists. (No, no, I'm not biased at all...) Again, I must apologize for the lateness of my reply. I'm really sorry about it, and I hope it won't have to come to this again.

I'm going to prove you wrong by staying stable or even losing weight on my next visit to the US. (Which one it'll be depends on whether I'm happy with my weight or still wanting to lose at the time.) If you're curious about my diet (NOTE: I use "diet" here in the meaning of "permanent diet", not "weight-loss diet", as this way I'm eating I will keep up even after I reach my goal) just ask me, and I'll tell you. It's pretty unorthodox, though, and you'll probably call me crazy for eating this way. XD You call your father a Nazi? That's not very nice. :-P Hah, yeah, it really does take me hours to write these messages to you. I took your advice and called it "Taylor Time". The name of this file that I'm writing to you in (yes, I need a file, because I couldn't write all this in one single session...) is actually called "taylor-time". I have no idea what you mean when you say you want to go running with us in Normandy. Did you mean to say Norway? XD Cause I have no particular interest of going running in Northern France any time soon, haha. I am working on getting onto shape, though. Between December 15 and February 3, I lost 14.5 kg. (You said I didn't have to use your stupid measuring system if I didn't have to, so I won't. ;-) I started at 108.3 kg and ended at 94.8 kg. Then stuff happened, well, mostly my mom getting very sick and eventually dying. Those events caused me to get off track for a bit. However, since last Monday, I've picked up where I got off. I am currently at 95.2 kg and losing again. If (no, I should say WHEN) I make my goal, I'll show you the before and after pictures! (^_^) It's going to be quite a transformation, I assure you. Now, you said "everyone gains weight upon visiting the United States for longer than 24 hours".

My mom didn't even get to see me turn 25 years old. My children won't have a grand mother on my side... My dad is now a widower, and my sister lost her best friend... well, enough about that, it makes me sad to think about. So yeah, moving on... It's all right that the "Crimson Tide and Deep Blue Sea" song isn't really your thing. I won't hit you, lol. I would never hit you. I don't hit women. In fact, I don't hit people. At least I have never hit people. It doesn't mean I won't, if the situation calls for it. Were my family or friends attacked, or were I attacked, I wouldn't just stand there and not defend myself. Since we last spoke, my top 4 SNSD member list has changed. Can you tell what changed? Did you ever get to buy that Korean book you said you wanted? Thanks for your faith in my langauge development. Of course, if I am to actually succeed with it, I must DO something, which I am currently not doing. I believe I did bike that Monday. So I did better than you, lol.

All-in-all, though, I think she's happier with being here with me than she's sad about what she's left behind. Haha, yeah, she was rather clingy the first month, but then again, she's kind of the clingy type to begin with. Our "reception" went fine, there were (unfortunately for you) no embarrasing moments to speak of. I think Hannah is more like you than Carrie from "Sex in the City", in that she wants a small ceremony, but if she wanted one blown out of proportion, I wouldn't be the right man for her. Like I mentioned already, I'm not made of money and would not be able to afford such a splurge. Plus, MY preference is a small ceremony. Yay, you finally reviewed the songs I love! Did I mention I want "River Flows in You" to be played at my funeral? It's such a beautiful, yet sort of sad song. I think it's perfect for a funeral. Speaking of which, now is as a good time as any to mention: My mom passed away recently. She took her last breath on February 22, after two years of cancer.

Since I'm not a man made of money, I can't really afford much outside food and shelter, as well as Internet access. Can't live without Internet. ;-) Oh yeah, having a handy-man-dad has been very useful for me time and time again. Not just for helping me renovate my apartment, but back when I owned a car, he would help me perform maintenance on it. Or should I say, he did maintenance on it while I watched. XD I don't remember anymore what this apartment smelled like when I bought it, so I can't tell you what the previous owner smelled like. I'm sorry. I'm sure you were dying to know this particular de(a)t(h)ail, lol. I'm not sure I ever took that ceremonial first step. I moved in here more or less the day before my fiancée arrived, and then things were hectic and I never got to do it properly. My fiancée, who I shall from now on refer to as Hannah, left some things behind of course. She left behind her US friends, and some of her US possessions.

I'd rather have our system of government than the US system. My shouts are the highlight of your day, you said, and then I quit writing you for almost a year. Don't I feel like a meanie now. Well, maybe we can get it going again? If you don't have time anymore, though, I'd totally understand. In fact, if you make me wait 10 months for a reply to these shouts (or more even) I wouldn't hold it against you in the least. After all, that's what I did to you. At least your statement about the length of my shouts showing that I care is true. I care about all my friends, whether I only know them online or if they are personal friends. Haha, okay, I shall leave your shoutbox classification system be. After all, it is YOUR system, and I have no business meddling in your shoutbox affairs. The reason I thought using "tetra" was strange is because it simply means "four". by now I have moved into my apartment, of course. It's not done yet, though.

Well, to be fair, I know some of the "tourist" phrases, so I'll say this much: 안녕하세요? 저의 이름은 알렉산데르입니다. 나이는 25살 이에요. 만나서 반갑습니다! Nothing much exciting there, lol. Feel free to reply back in Korean if you want to. (^_^) Man, I already knew how expensive college is in the US, but still, those prices are insane. Do you know how much I paid per semester at my university? ~$95. I'm not kidding. And we're talking the best university in Norway here. So the annual rate here is ~$190. So, while we're not quite FREE, like those countries you said you had heard of, we're close enough that I consider it pretty much free. It's not really that cheap, of course. The reason it appears so cheap here is because the universities are sponsored by the government. And who pays for what the government does? The population, of course, through taxes. Taxes here in Norway are crazy. However, they allow us to have free healthcare and college and a lot of other nice things, so I like it.

Have you ever seen a reply as late as this? I bet you haven't! This is me apologizing profusely for taking 10 months to reply to you: OTL I have taken so long that I noticed you never even drop by my profile anymore. I'm actually amazed you've kept me as a friend here on last.fm (and Facebook). We're like... basically strangers again now, you know? So anyway, I'm just going to reply to your last shouts to me, even though they are obviously way out of date now. I'll probably leave out things that are no longer relevant, due to so much time passing. So here we go: I haven't been able to study Korean for a long time. I want to get back into the rhythm of doing it, but I can't seem to get off my ass and do it. Or rather, there are so many other things I want to do, that I seem to down-prioritize Korean to the point where I never do it. Still, communicating a tiny bit in Korean seems like a good idea. I am, however, not good enough to really say anything, so I won't. XD
