I know you like SKM, but do you like Red House Painters? I started on RHP and I was kinda shocked when I first started listening to them, the music hit a deep chord in me and moved me like no music had ever done.

You're welcome, man! It sounds absolutely beautiful - I watch that video at least twice a day. I love the backing band on that one, too. It works. Have you ever seen his tour documentary DVD?

Saw your comment on "Carissa" and I agree, that song hurts. I've listened to it over 20 times and it still hurts bad. He's an amazingly awesome live version (with backing band) enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqIim4M0NBo

I've only listened to it once! Saw them live on Saturday though, and most of their set was comprised of tracks from Deep Fantasy. So good!

I've been meaning to listen to Ben Frost's new release, among many others, but haven't found the time to as of yet. So far Carla Bozulich, Diane Cluck, Neneh Cherry and Xiu Xiu's stuff has been treating me well

I can't say the same as of yet as I still have the compulsion to skip a track or two on Joyland, but maybe it'll grow on me even more. What else have you liked from this year?

I've been enjoying it quite a bit! Didn't know what to expect upon hearing of Maya's departure but it ended up being a really solid offering.

I would be down to see Flume and Gesaffelstein, but no one else that you mentioned really =/ I missed SBTRKT two years ago because he played the same time as Garbage so I saw Garbage instead, was a tough choice though. It would be sweet if they added St. Vincent, Warpaint, Austra and Little Dragon. Then I would probably go!

right now its a maybe, I have gone every year since it started but the lineup this year is pretty weak so far... most of the acts I like I have seen already. The only artists I'd be seeing for the first time that I enjoy would be Jon Hopkins and SBTRKT, so it'll depend on the day schedule/if they add more artists that I'm into.

her last two albums before this one were good too, honestly Kylie has been consistent as fuck since Impossible Princess. One of the reasons I love her so much, I can always count on her to deliver a really strong pop album. Defs give Kiss Me Once, X and Aphrodite a listen if you have a chance

Ah, I would too! I would like die if I saw them back then. I would be so gifted if I was born 15 years earlier or so, haha. It's a shame I was born so late.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean... It's always a 'risk' to reunite after such a long time. Back in 1997 there were so many struggles in Failure but that is what made them so good. Now they are as thick as thieves, so it definitely will be different and maybe less exciting. But it won't keep me from going to their shows. If I could get my hands on a time machine I would go back to their peak period though.

So you don't expect much from it? Are you anxious they won't be as good as back in the 90s? If so, why?

What I love about him is the way he works with samples, he gives them a unique sound that fits perfectly in a song. V. Snares is more of a break-god and much more technicist, making some really interesting and complex ones, his tempo and time is just so fucked up. But FFF vocal samples and production in general is just godlike imo.
