Hey Connie! Life out west is amazing. It's been about a month since I moved here, I can say I should've moved long before! I'm loving it. And yes, in terms of metal, there's a little bit more going on here. I'm looking forward to seeing Kamelot first. By the way, I ran into James Hetfield here. He's a resident of San Rafael, CA. Unfortunately this whole move process hurt my budget so I had to (unwillingly) skip PP this year, but next year I'm definitely down. Chris and Ralf will be there this year, so you guys can hang out. By the way, I discovered just another Finnish band called Wintersun. They will be in Detroit on Fri 8/16. You may like them.

yeah, i was so excited for Symphony X and Epica. hadn't seen Symphony X since 2008. i was really surprised by the crowd's reaction to Primordial - they seemed well-received for that sort of audience. i thought those three sets all kicked ass.

wow ! enjoy \m/ no, I missed the HellFest and Wacken as well, but I think that tickets for these festivals gets depleted rapidely. so maybe I'll try tobuy my ticket these days to be in wacken next year :)

Myrath, they're the most known metal band in Tunisia, but i confess i'm not really impressed with their music, they seems to me like a pale copy of Symphony X with a bit of oriental touch ! so you're going to ProgPower USA ? :)

Insomnium is good my favorite album is probably 'Since The Day It All Came Down'. Omnium Gatherum is pretty good too. Haven't picked a favorite album from them yet. Although Years in Waste is pretty good. I haven't been to a show in ages. Since i live on my own, it's not easy to even make any money. Most of it goes to bills.

Yeah we do have several bands in common. I'm mostly into melodeath, death/black metal. Yeah im from IL in the suburbs around the chicagoland area. (about an hour or so). You travel to IL or have friends/family around here?

Hey! I have mixed feelings about Heritage. I'm beginning to like it I guess. I checked setlists of their North American tour. Not a single song with death growls! I hope this is a thing for this album only. As for Evergrey, I'm not a fan of them. At least not to the extent that I would want to seem them live. There are only two gigs I'm looking forward to: DT and Opeth.

Lol, maybe the compatibility thing is broken then :) I know Symphony X. I like power metal also, right now I'm mostly listening to the older big bands if I listen to power metal. I don't know any new good bands.

Well that's too early! I'll see next month. Strange, I thought Detroit was also famous for it's musical scene. Perhaps metal is not that popular here. So that means I may have to travel to Chicago for a good band.

Oh yes - I love metal festivals! Therion is gonna be there and this alone is more than enough to me! The rest would be just bonus. Yeah, I lived in Cambridge for about two years. In the beginning of this year I moved to Michigan (for my job). I'm a little worried here I wouldn't be able find as many gigs as I've been to in Britain. Nonetheless, Symphony X will be a good start!

I particularly loved the classic off-beat drums in Dehumanized. Can't wait to see it live. I think Iconoclast is gonna be released sometime in April. Your gig history seems pretty impressive. Do you never miss ProgPower USA?!

I've been good. Last show I think I saw was Arsis, Powerglove, and Conducting From The Grave. Before that I saw Blind Guardian in Detroit. Been going to a lot in Cleveland lately.
