Trips and dirty riffs: Spiral Drive make space rock with unmistakable energy.
SPIRAL DRIVE just released a 7inch to accompany their tour from the end of January 2025 and are venturing into a cover version of the Beatles song “Tomorrow never knows”, whereby the B-side will only be available physically. The highlight of the single is that Klaus Voormann made the artwork based on a sketch that was originally intended for the Beatles album “REVOLVER”.
With their second studio album “Visions In Bloom” and the song “Space Train”, which has been streamed millions of times, the band has impressively proven that they are stylistically confident in this genre and are certainly one of the most exciting international neo-psych acts from Europe. On the record released in 2022, the German/Austrian music producer (Mother's Cake, Ok Danke Tschüss, Noah Fürbringer,…) and live musician Raphaël Neikes once again demonstrates his ability to fuse psychedelic rock, alternative rock, psych pop, grunge and indie rock in a homogeneous and stylistically confident manner.
Comparisons with bands such as Tame Impala, Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, MGMT or Pink Floyd are never far away - and yet the band is difficult to pigeonhole.
No wonder that musicians such as Ben McLeod from “All Them Witches” (US), “Lord Fascinator” from “Children Collide” (AUS) have already worked with the busy band leader Neikes and that a large part of the fanbase in the USA, UK and Australia is ready for the band.
