It's a full-on techno beatdown as the Electric Deluxe boss and Dutch legend Speedy J debuts at (le) Poisson Rouge for this special pre-Memorial Day weekend Thursday night.

Jochem Paap is the Rotterdam artist Speedy J, early on in his career he was given the moniker to note his adept skills in his DJ performances. He is unanimously considered to be one of the first techno producers to come from the Benelux. Together with people like Laurent Garnier, Aphex Twin and Richie Hawtin he helped in pushing the genre on just after it had escaped the Detroit delivery room.

Sleepy & Boo play electronic music of all shapes and sizes, rocking rooms big and small across New York City and beyond. They love thick drums, big basslines, hypnotic grooves and tripped-out sci-fi synthesizers, and know how to put it all together. Forget sticking to just one genre — as DJs, they are known for their diversity and their knack for picking tracks from across the musical spectrum.
