The history of Techno
LEO ANIBALDI (Cannibald rec.)

was born in 1972 and at the age of 15 discovered his passion for electronic music. Thanks to the advent of the first computers like Commodore Vic 20 and 64, he began to create his first loops. After one year he started to play in Rome outskint's clubs under the pseudonym Dj Mc, when was impossibile to find in Rome any trace of electronic beat.
He became a big analogue synths collector and decided to spend his daily life into the creation of beats and sound research.
In 1990 his recordings career stared at ACV records where he will make more then 20 seminal albums like Attack Random, Riders of the future, Noise Generation, Muta, Cannibald and Aeon. In 1991 met Lory D and in a small garage located in the north of Rome they started the alternative music movement universally known as The Sound of Rome, who spreaded Techno music in Rome and all over Italy. In those years he concentrated in bringing his analogue Live set around the world as he played in the best techno parties like one of the first Love Parade edition in Berlin. In 1995 Leo decided to cut the relation with Acv records and moved to Rephlex, label of his friend Aphex Twin where he will make the Album Void.
The end of the century saw Leo running the illegal rave scene in Rome at Fintek, pushing his sounds further new limits until time for a break arrived with fast sound and restless lifestyle.
Time to set up a new studio and a succesfull series of gigs in Rome (including a liveset back to back with Aphex Twin at Brancaleone or the ones with Dave clark & Speedy J...), just enough time to recup with the techno scene & in 2005 he recorded his first single for a new project: Cannibald Records.
Along with fellow musicians and friends, the label is now up and running since 2008.

HYENA (Rxstzn)

Freelance audio engineer, Ableton Live 8 certified trainer, self-taught non-music producer, Giona started gettin involved in music with busking, playing traverse flute, whistles and bansuri in the mid ‘90s. In 2001 first electro\techno experiments took shape , until the discovery of the new gospel: breakcore music. One track got printed on the first 12” from now defunct Kapotte Radio, a belgian label, then one on a chinese compilation cd. But the attention is always focused on livesets, be it with hardware racks , laptops and software or just plain noises and live flutes. Music fluctuates between breakcore, darkambient, industrial and dubstep. He’s got a side project focusin on digital neofolk (Fekete) and he contributes drum machine to the experimental band Scum From The Sun (Afe records). He co-started the RXSTNZ label. Played various parties and festivals in and out of Italy: Transhumanz Festival , MEItech 2008 (one of the ten winners), opposticoncordi ‘s CarneMvale 2010 (a big party boasting a huge 20000 people). Played with: Bong-Ra , Zu , Hecate , Cdatakill , Sickboy , Hypnoskull, Shockraver, Vidioatak, Xanopticon,Abelcain, Daniele Brusaschetto, Skeeme, Sandblasting, Anna Bolena, Dj Balli, N., Ovo, Dj Antz, Droon, a034, Giggling Dildas, Atki2, Ripit, Andrea Marutti, Pablito el Drito.

NILOW (BF-Rec./BassFieber)

is a Dubstep/Drum n Bass Dj and Producer from Berlin/Germany in the age of 17 he start playing Bass in some Garage Bands with Punk and Hardcore. Furthermore he tryed to play Drums. One time he get his first musik program and start to make beats and try make his first tracks. What Nilow Love is the sounds of deep and massive Basses.
In the year 2000 he came in contact with Drum n Bass and at the first moment he loved this massive sounds and starting to search for more music with deep and dirty basslines until he came in contact with DUBSTEP. In 2007 he started to spin Turntables and make his first own productions. After running a monthly Drum n Bass Party called BassFiber in Berlin he and his mate Barry T. decided to found her own label BF-Recordings it is a mixed DUbstep and Drum n Bass label and started in the beginnin of 2009. The Sound from Nilow is experimental - a mix of melodic strings and heavy Basslines. He Produce many kinds of Dubstep. Now he have some Releases on Bf-Rec, Barish-Rec, Assimilation Dub Rec, and Imperative Rec.
He also have a new and upcomin projekt with Panika a producer girl from Poland this projekt started in the middle of 2009 - they wanted make one track together just for fun - but they get so much good feedback that they make a next and now it is a new Dubstep Projekt and they try to make experimental Dubstep where evey tune tell his own story.
One of his next project will be under the name Moestep; he produces only Drum n Bass because he says he is addicted in BASS.

BARRY T. (BF-Rec./BassFieber)

started spinning vinyls in 1997 when he was 16.
After he got into the whole Love-Parade-thing decided to buy some turntables and start learning to handle them (what really took a while).
The first records he played were more Trance and Techno-style, but he also was open to anything else like Electro and Detroit-Techno (later the Detroit-Techno was the style he really loved - Igor Westphal brought him to really feel that music) and, of course, nearly everything that Berlin were able to give him (deep, emotional, minimalistic but still forward-driving Techno was what he loved, especially Chain Reaction, Basic Channel and Tresor Rec).
After doing so for a few years he got into Drum and Bass (about 2006) and he found that this was the music he REALLY loved to play (though i still listen to the old Techno-stuff, but he actually doesn´t play it anymore). After gaining experience and promoting some parties he founded the label BF Recordings with his mate Moestep (or Nilow, as he nowadays calls himself due to his Dubstep-synonym) which first released lots of Dubstep- and DNB-tunes for free and starts selling digital-tracks at the end of 2009.
