On a dark, dark night, in a dark, dark street, in a dark, dark bar, there lurked a night like no other… Fright Night Oxjam! On Thursday 28th October at 7.30pm, guys and ghouls will be making their way to Brixton’s Babalou bar to rock their bodies in aid of Oxfam.
Oxjam is the UK’s biggest music festival, running throughout the whole of October. Hundreds of music-lovers across the country have been busy organising local music events to raise money for the world’s poorest countries, which are in need of our help.
Fright Night is Oxjam’s spookiest offering. Halloween themed, guests are being treated to an all-girl DJ lineup, including iconic house DJ, Lizzie Curious, and internationally renowned DJ and producer, Anna Kiss. Live bands will also be gracing the stage, including the Escapists and singer/songwriter Joel Bailey, whose music Paloma Faith recently described as “an original approach” and “beautiful”. There is a fancy dress competition, as well as a spine-tingling haunted house. This eerie evening will be running until 3am.
Tickets for Fright Night Oxjam are £6 each, and are available at www.wegottickets.com/oxjam. All profits go to Oxfam, who will invest the money in supplying essentials such as medicine, medical equipment and safe water to countries that need it most, such as Pakistan where 14m people were recently affected by devastating floods.
“Oxjam is a great opportunity to put on a night to celebrate the exciting local music we have in London,” enthuses Event Organiser, Joey Hurl. “I want to create a truly unique atmosphere by combining the thrills of a Halloween party with an exclusive line up of excellent artists and DJs. Our aim is to raise enough funds to make a difference to the lives of those in need.”
