i will always have this song in the back of my head because through my high school years i would play radiohead for my dad and he would say "yeah, these are the guys that did mexican radio!" questioned him about it but he had no follow up information. assumed he made the song up. a long time later i found out that it was indeed a real song. i have no idea how he got wall of voodoo and radiohead confused.

I've eaten plenty of Mexican food in my day, and I'm pretty sure "barbecued iguana" is not in the cuisine, though I'm not doubting that there's somewhere you can get it in Tijuana.

I remember this being all over the airwaves when I was a kid. Yep. Still gets stuck in my head.

Wiki says the song is dark wave -- no one is tagging it that way. It's "fun" yet has a darkness there too. New wave for sure. Still dig this one.

I can picture myself listening to this while cruising down a road in the middle of the desert, cowboy hat, sunglasses and all. Freaking A.

This was played regularly on KROQ in Los Angeles through the decade of the '80's; it was one of several unofficial local-band anthems of the 80's. Still sounds great. [2]
