isn't it interesting how audioslave and soundgarden's names are opposites? like i've always noticed this. one is a self proclaimed slave to their music while the other could be taken to mean that they cultivate and grow their songs into something greater. idk, i've just always noticed how their names correlate with each other.

The word "slave" could also refer to the music industry. All three Audioslave albums were jointly released by Epic Records (RAtM's label) and Interscope Records (Soundgarden's label) respectively. The logos of both labels appear on every release. They were uable to freely look for a record label due to their existing contracts.

Depending on the situation, I would almost consider giving the label a load of shit to work with as a bigger middle finger to them lol

To me it's the other way round, in general. However there are days that I can't listen to most of stuff Chris sings on cause it gets too wmotional for me. Then I play Audioslave. Btw I never understand the hysteria when someone expresses their opinion on the internet. Soundgarden is the best band in the world << will you ahoot me now?

I never got the animosity for Audioslave. They made meaty, back to basics rock & roll and there's nothing wrong with that at all. Hard to escape the monolithic shadows of RATM and Soundgarden, but what Audioslave made was really damn solid in its own right.

I do agree somewhat, compared to the Soundgarden albums - and his stunning performance on Temple of the Dog - Cornell's vocals are pretty shabby on this one.
