Thermostatic was formed in 2004 (yeah, the first song "I Want To Be A Marilyn" was recorded in 2003 but the real formation was definitely a year later). After releasing a 4 track EP themselves the band was approached by Wonderland Records and an agreement was reached. While playing almost every and any place in the Gothenburg area Thermostatic recorded the first album "Joy Toy" which was officially released in May 2005. The album was quite a success and tracks like e.g "Private Machine", "Metal Skin", "So Close So Near" and "Far Away" may still be heard quite often in various sorts of clubs leaning towards electro pop.
In 2006 Thermostatic was awarded with the "Newcomer of the year" award at Sweden Alternative Music Awards (SAMA) and also released two singles in one day ("Private Machine" and "So Close So Near). The year after (2007) another single was released - "The Box". The overall sound was now a bit harder but still as melodic as ever.
The final album release, "Humanizer", was released in May 2008. The overall theme was far more layered and melancholic than the first album. A follow up single to "The Box" was planned and remixes were created for "Driving" and "Northern Ambulance". However, the release was never completed.
Thermostatic had a reputation of being a real energetic live experience and during the active years they played many well received live shows, like e.g. now buried Arvika Festival in 2006 and 2009.
Thermostatic disbanded and played the final show at Sticky Fingers, Gothenburg on May 1, 2010. Really sad, isn't it? :)
