Mainly post-rock, shoegaze of iets psychedelisch/ambient? Ik moet altijd denken aan "The crazy crab" van Murphy's Law als'k 'Kreeftjeuh' lees :—D

aww man that must have been pretty gutting finding tix all sold out :( I don't understand how some festivals will sell out so quickly and yet some won't even sell out at all. I mean the Reading and Leeds festivals in England will sell out in minutes yet the Outside Lands festival I went to in San Francisco last year had tickets available for months and the lineup was so much better. As far as I'm aware I don't think Les Ardentes even sold out? If yr like me, on campus, you still have the problem of yr neighbours playing music. The walls must be pretty thin in our halls becuz you have to play yr music pretty loud to drown all the other sources out =( What do you study? Unfortunately I still haven't even started my Les Ardentes review yet. I was on holiday in Malta last week then the weekend turned out to be pretty busy and now I'm just catching up with the messages I've got reply to, but, I need to get it done soon before my memory fades too much :S

Half the course is spent doing practical production in recording studios / production suites, mixing music, doing a little composition and applying various effects and the other half is all about how the music business works and what skills you need to do different things like running a label or being an A&R rep for example. It is really uncommon course; I only found a handful of universities that did it. I'm not totally sure what I want to do with my degree, but, at the moment I think my dream situation would be working in a recording studio part time while also contributing articles (new album / live reviews and the like) to magazines. The other idea is to do what everybody dreams about doing - carry on with my guitar playing, form a band and be a massive rock star! :P I have done a few music reviews and was planning to do one for Les Ardentes when I got back. A month on I still haven't done it, but, hopefully I'll put something together soon :)

Hey, sorry for my similarily late response. It was an extremely good festival and if the line-up is as good next year I would be tempted to go again, but, I'd have to learn some of the language or invest in a phrase book as it was a bit of a problem being able to understand virtually no one! I see you never went to Pukkelpop in the end. That had a pretty killer line-up, although I guess not as much electro, more rock dedicated I suppose. I'd like to think I'm getting more open minded. I mean I only used to listen to music made by the classic line up of guitar, bass, drums, vocals. Keyboards used to be a real turn off, but, nowadays I'll listen to different stuff. I do draw the line at r&b/hiphop crap, like you, so, it's a bit of a nightmare now I'm back home from Uni for the summer and my brother has all this r&b pumping out of his stereo full volume. I just have to turn mine louder! Well the full name of my course is Commercial Music Production and I combine it with Journalism....
