This archival release (they couldn't get a label to pick them up) sounds a lot more like Yes and Gentle Giant, especially in the vocals, than their first album, but still Yezda Urfa is different enough in idiosyncratic style to separate themselves musically from their influences. The album starts full-on but then pulls back into a more sylvan feel with sparse piano, lilting flute, and gentle harmonies set with uncommon time signatures.

@MichiClub, YU's playing skills in comparison to Yes or GG are, of course, worth a discussion.. But you forget one point about the greatness of this band and that is the fun factor. Sometimes proggies just take themselves too seriously - Yu painted this arrogance with colourful flowers and lots of sarcastic grins.

i know Gentle Giant albums and i like them, although only one their track allows me to fly as high as the Yes albums i mentioned. it is the Three Friends epic. In My Opinion it is almost as good as Yes (Relayer and Awaken are still better..). FOR ME, of course, becouse everyone has his own taste.;)

Totally disagree. Much more interesting drum work + a more folky sound. I'd say they're more of a middle ground between Gentle Giant and Yes than a clone of either. Also, not important, but IMO Gentle Giant > Yezda Urfa > Yes
