I was a stranger to their music up until I heard "My Own Soul's Warning" play in an advertisement and it caught my attention right away. Went looking for the album and ever since the first listening I knew I had found an all-time favorite. Not one track on this record is average or less.

Similar story here.) Hadn't ever heard about any Killers, then one day stumbled upon "Human" on the radio.. and ended up having listened to their whole discography and checking up every new album for two or three years already.) "Imploding the Mirage" I'd however put on the second place -- "Battle Born" is still their best imo.

Why is it that some of our favorite things in life tend to first appear when we're not looking for them? I'm yet to check Battle Born out, I heard it's got that same Springsteen vein as in Imploding the Mirage though.

Unfortunately missing Dave Keuning on the 5th and 6th albums. I know he is listed as personnel on the "Wonderful, Wonderful" album but he only has songwriting credits on one song that made the cut. there are some very good songs but the bodies of work simply do not stand up to the first four Killers albums.

First review I read on this album said it was 'too grand sweeping and hopeful' and this was smack dab in the middle of 2020's bullshit and I had never wanted to smack someone for reviewing music more in my life. Just wanted to share that cuz that'll be my defining memory of this album outside of the actual content of course.

Kind of boring, too be honest. It's ok, but nowhere near as good as their previous four albums. This band has definitely hit that "middle age rock band" period, where they try to keep up with trends, while at the same time are very nostalgic for the music they grew up with. Reminds me of what happened to most of the great 60s and 70s bands in the 80s. Sounds like Bruce Springsteen playing yacht rock.

After two singles and what they teased on intagram live. I guess it's safe to say this is their best since Sam's Town.
