Japanische Kampfhörspiele, formed in 1998, is a grindcore band from Krefeld, Germany. Their name translates to "Japanese Combat Radio Plays." On later releases, they incorporated some death metal influences, but the band refers to their current sound as "grindpunk."
Japanische Kampfhörspiele (JaKa) was founded in 1998 by Klaus Nicodem. After their official debut CD on Blutwurscht Productions (Switzerland) in 2001, Christof adds Daniel and Simon Schaffrath and Marco Bachmann to the line-up to be able to play live performances. In 2002 Japanische Kampfhörspiele release Die Großstadt Stinkt, Ist Laut Und Septisch. Simon Schaffrath leaves the band, and playing live shows is out. The band focuses on song-writing, and in 2003 Bastardized Recordings releases the EP Fertigmensch. The band plays its first live show in October 2003.
In spring 2004 the band went into the studio again to record Hardcore Aus Der Ersten Welt, a very heavy album. Japanische Kampfhörspiele continue to record and release their music through various labels, the latest being Rauchen und Yoga on Bastardized Recordings.
