Oh, you didn't need to worry about sitting down at the Avetts show...the entire crowd stood the whole time! Heartless Bastards, great! I saw them last year open for Wilco. Are you going to the Cain's show or the Speakeasy? Maybe I'll spot you at the NMF, I'm going to that too. I'm going to Nashville in two weeks to see My Morning Jacket! :0

I totally didn't mean to fall off the face of the earth, Sher. I didn't go to Dfest because it was imperative apparently that I had to work. You didn't happen to see The Jonbear Fourtet there, did you? I went to high school with Jon, and I meant to tell you to try to check them out if you got the chance. Jumping forward from July, I totally dig the new Crowes album. Did you go see them at the fair Thursday? I went, and I really liked Truth & Salvage Co. I bought a shirt and their EP. Anyway, I hope you've been well. Take Care!

A lot of the appeal with DFest is that a lot of the bands there I would like to see, but probably wouldn't go see them if they were anywhere but the Conservatory or Opolis. I wouldn't go to Tulsa or something for Cake, but DFest will give me an excuse to see a lot of cool bands. I like The Cool Kids and Ra Ra Riot too.

Did you see Wilco? I had a great time - they never disappoint. Also, my band got some good exposure on Lex and Terry last week. They liked our stuff (they usually "shred" bad bands) and a lot of people heard it. We went from like a bit under 300 profiles views to nearly 1800 in a week. We have a booking agent, and chances are we'll be doing a lot of shows in the Southwest here in the coming months. We may even be able to tour if we accrue enough funds for one of our members to comfortably leave his job. That last part is a long shot though. Whats new with you? Going to DFest or any shows?

Thanks - I try. Its not my style exactly but it is fun for sure. Its cool that you've become a nurse (this is a recent thing right?) I plan on joining the medical field here in a few years. I may go to TVotR depending on my financial situation. Wilco for sure - get their new album it is a step in the right direction :>. I dunno Xavier Rudd hardly at all so I probably won't be doing that one. And oddly enough I didn't goto NMF. Instead I went to a counterstrike 1.6 LAN (popular competitive video game - all my friends happen to be insanely good at) on campus. We made 200$ so that was nice. All I had to do was breathe and we would've won, my roommate and our other 2 friends are really good. I don't like Of Montreal that much really - live or studio albums. Not sure why. I was sad I missed Other Lives and Man Man, though. But I've already seen both. Why aren't you scrobbling anymore?

Yeah, I went with my buddy and his ladyfriend. I in love with M&A and I enjoy Ra Ra pretty good. Awesome show. I felt like M&A stole it though, but I'm biased. They're so incredibly good with their instruments, watching their drummer was, in a way, eye-opening. Also, I may be in love with Ra Ra Riot's cello player. Haha. Any shows you going to soon? I'm definitely doing Wilco and Tera Melos (at the conservatory - they're like M&A but...a little more mathy). Not sure if there's anything else.

I had written something about Sam Cooke here, but maybe I forgot to hit post and navigated away... Anyway, have you listened to much Sam Cooke? A friend of mine introduced me to an album of his called Live at the Harlem Square Club, 1963. Holy Freaking Crap. You should check it out just to hear "Bring It On Home To Me." There's a problem, though. There's a remastered version that mixed down the volume of the crowd and the brass, turned up the guitar, and cut out some of the in-between stuff Sam says. This is criminal if you've heard the original mix. Hmm, you should check your inbox, dear.

I will be there! I'm on OU's music radio station, The Wire, and I'm required to be there so it gave me a good excuse to ask off work, haha. I should be around there somewhere wearing a green shirt that says "wire.ou.edu" on it. Well, that's what I think it says; I know for sure it's green. Anyway, I hope I see you there!

I definitely need to see The Black Keys and preferably at Cain's. Thank you so much for this album! It's really good. I can't stop myself from listening to the whole thing every time I want to listen to just one song. I have all the Keys' albums already, but I haven't listened to Attack & Release yet. I went through them chronologically, giving myself a couple weeks to digest each album before moving on to the next one. The only album anyone ever wants to talk about with me is the new one though. Oh well. Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Thank you again, Sheryl!

Hey you and another friend of mine told me about this at almost the same time! I got tickets for me and another nurse friend. It's gonna be awesome. Also, The Black Keys are TOTALLY your kinda music. I have had the pleasure of seeing them live 4 times. It is always amazing. I'm going to be sending you a message. Check them in a little bit.

Ha, those are good times! I was at a friend's house the other day, and he smoked me out, made me pancakes, and put them on. Good times all around. I've been just peachy although a little overwhelmed by early homework. Recently, I really got into The Black Keys, and I scrobbled a ridiculous amount of their tracks there for a little bit. I even bought Rubber Factory and Thickfreakness on vinyl. But anyway, how have you been, Sheryl? Hey, I just read a couple minutes ago that Modest Mouse were going to be at the Diamond Ballroom on March 3rd just in case you weren't aware.

That's cool man. What kinda drum kit? Make sure you have good technique (use your wrists not elbows (mostly, at least) and keep your rack toms' angles semi close to level (for your wrists!)). Also learn to hold the sticks correctly. Do you play traditional or matched? Jazz guys play traditional (so does the Wilco drummer sometimes) most play matched (like me). It is a ton of fun. As far as shows I have TVotR, Wolf Parade in Tulsa, Sunset Rubdown, Margot and The Nuclear So and Sos, Mount Eerie, Other Lives (Kunek) and The Neighborhood at Conservatory (go to this one!), maybe the Uglysuit, Mogwai/Fuck Buttons. I'll shoot you the link.

I am okay, but I've been better. I recently found out that my scholarships were taken away. This past year I was on academic probation, and last semester I just happened to dip below full time (to 11 hours no less) so I've been reprimanded. To get my financial aid back I have to pay my way through one semester while maintaining a 2.0 gpa and a full time schedule and then submit a letter asking to be reevaluated. The gpa and the full time will be a piece of cake, but the money part is going to kick my ass. I really do not want to ask my parents for money, and I really don't even want them to know about all of this. I'm in quite the pickle, but I know it's my fault so I'll fix it. On a lighter note, though, I did shrooms for the first time last week, and it was pretty awesome. Some of the most fun I've ever had in my life. Ahem, sorry to be so long-winded... long-typing-winded. So why aren't you living if I may ask?
