That Fucking Tank are an alternative rock duo from Leeds, England. They formed in August 2003, have so far released 3 albums and are celebrating their 10th year of playing together.
Andy Abbott (baritone guitar played through multiple amplifiers) and James Islip (drums) have been performing under the name That Fucking Tank since 2003 after getting together for a one-off performance. They run their own record label named Obscene Baby Auction where they have released EPs and albums by themselves and other artists.
Often cited as stalwarts of the DIY music scene (not just in Leeds but the UK as a whole), That Fucking Tank, with their radio-unfriendly name have never courted nationwide fame.
James and Andy met in the early 1990's whilst they were still at Primary School. They played their first gig together in Matlock in 1995 (aged 14) as part of a short-lived band called Grin.
