If half the songs wasn't them replicating old riffs and desperately trying to rekindle their glory days - this album might be one of their better ones... It's tired for me...

Haven't listened to this for a while, can't remember it impressing me in 2007. Might give it another go, seemed very MOR for the most part.

The album that introduced me to Manic Street Preachers. Great album imo, very powerful guitars [2] One of the best of the past 5 years.

I keep thinking this album sucks but listening to it again i realise theres only two truly awful songs 'Love Alone' & 'Patsy'. A few others are middle of the road such as title track & Autumnsong & others are excellent such as Indian Summer. Still not an essential album though.

It is their most positive and summery record. However, it's also their worst with no tracks on it that I love. It also may be polished in its production but it's practically soulless. I can take "Indian Summer" and "Winterlovers" as they come across as the only ones that don't sound forced but everything else is just abysmal.

Fucking amazing songs but way too overproduced!! An acoustic version of this album would make me very very happy.

Wow. I'm very pleasantly surprised by this album, it feels like something towards a return to form. I feel much more optimistic about the next album now.

Only a good album really, Your Love Alone is the best on it as it doesn't feel as forced as some of the others do. Lifeblood is still the worst though.

How the hell can THIS record be the most played one by the Manics? I mean, we are talking about a band who has made brilliant and classic records like The Holy Bible and Everything Must Go!. Listen to them before you listen to this one! Gotta love "Your Love Is Not Enough" though...

What a terrible album. Only two redeeming tracks; that's worse than Lifeblood or Gold Against the Soul.

Love it. Just amazing from first to last track. Made me re-realise why I love this band so much.

Yeah, Rendition is usually skipped by me as well. Alongside the hidden track... But The Second Great Depression is quickly becoming one of my favourite tracks. So beautiful, if you're a hopeless romantic ;)
