PS Are you planning on going to see Boris two nights in a row and then Bolt Thrower? Not sure if we'll be able to make both Boris shows due to work. :\

Yeah, I started listening to your "hipster" playlist on Spotify. Wasn't expecting Deafheaven or Slowdive so I left it on for awhile before Mumford came on. ;)

Yeah I did listen to Sektemtum, remember I said it sounded like night club black metal? *looks below* I must add that it did grow on me some. What was Meyhna'ch in LA for? As for the Exhumed incident @ the slidebar you can read about it here: http://blogs.ocweekly.com/heardmentality/2013/03/slidebar_puts_the_kibosh_on_me.php A few friends of mine gave me their account first hand. I guess they are still going to book metal shows but there will not be any more Metal Mondays. It's always a few assholes that have to fuck it up for the rest of us. Meh!

I tried Spotify twice but didn't fancy it. RYM has become integral to helping me find new music. It certainly seems like a solid album. It might even be more consistent than the debut, which I really enjoyed. With the return of MBV, it's probably wise they stray from the stigma. Dream pop is pretty big again too. Speaking of which, I'm really enjoying the last Wild Nothing album, which I only just heard this week. Are you a fan? Oh, and I'm excited for the sophomore album from The Daysleepers. Well worth checking out if you haven't done so already. Same goes for Airiel (especially their Winks & Kisses compilation). I have heard the new MBV album. It was decent but it has nothing on Loveless. No matter how hard they try, I doubt they'll ever top that album. What did you think of it?

I will have to check it out later and the first time I watched it I noticed that dude in it is wearing a Mutiilation shirt and at the time I had not even realized the connection. So what's up you aren't going to the show tonight? I'm going for sure. =)

Is it safe to say you're a fan of Marissa Nadler? I'm just getting into her music and I love The Saga of Mayflower May. I noticed you're also planning on seeing her live. Nice!

Yeah dude, South Africa has some of the best metal down there, you just have to look hard enough. I got some recommendations if you want, [artist]Wildernessking[/artist] (really good black metal with some post-rock influences) and [artist]Crow Black Sky[/artist] (melodic black/death metal). In fact, there's a whole website dedicated to spreading African metal. It's in my 'about me' if you want to view it.

Hell yeah, Grooms is my favorite up and coming band, they meld such sounds into a seamless creation of pure bliss. As for Ved... "Written in Waters" is their only s/t and worth while check out. Check out Virus his new revival of Ved, "The Agent that Shapes the Desert" is an eclectic batch of un-classifiable awesomeness. I understand about DsO, it was a long shot but, oh well. If you dig Grooms, check out Sonic Youth "Daydream Nation". I look at my life pre/post Sonic Youth, haha.

Check out Grooms' "Prom", anything from True Widow, Deathspell Omega "Paracletus", and Pink Floyd's "Piper at the Gates...". And since you dig black metal check out Ved Buens Ende for a very interesting portrayal of what the genre can harbor. :D Send anything my way if you dig any of these or if you just feel the need to anyway!

Thank you for minimizing my sense of despair in missing the performance of Whirr. Awesome charts too though!

You're American so you've got cheaper prices for sure. I haven't been keeping up with hardware for a few months but I think if you went with a GTX 560 + Phenom II X4 combo you could probably build a computer for like $700 if you cut corners. Would play games for the next 2 years I bet before you need an upgrade. I heard hard drives are super expensive at the moment, but ram is cheap as hell (8gb for $40!). Buy your stuff from Newegg when you do, they're the bomb.

Do you play BF3 on PC? I'll add you on Battlelog or whatever. Seriously though, impressive plays for Hypothermia, Deafheaven, Nachtmystium, etc.
