Thanks for the message. Ive been enjoying lots of albums this year so far. I would highly recommend Death Grips The Money Store its a pretty brutal sonic assault but very inventive and unique sounding. Chromatics, Beach House, Niki & the Dove, DIIV, Japandroids & Purity Ring are just some that if would recommend if you havent already checked them out! Happy listening :-)

I dunno man, you've got some sweet taste too. I'm liking lots of J-Dilla based stuff at the moment and BOC stuff I didn't have previously. Just waiting for the summer to really hit.

You too man! As for recommendations, I've been really into Hudson Mohawke recently, especially his EPs. His early mixtape, Hudson's Heeters, is definitely worth checking out. It's sort of a mix between his later stuff and Donuts typre one-minute beats. Apart from that, Matthewdavid is pretty great, he's on the more ambient side of the LA beat scene. Also if you like BOC's nostalgic, analogue sound, try Bibio's first three albums. Any recs in return? I've been looking for more flashy stuff like Rustie lately, if that helps.

I've been listening to a lot of Clams Casino recently. I'd recommend My Bloody Valentine, the Walkmen's new LP, Mount Eerie's new LP, Lower Dens, Lambchop, Frankie Rose, Grimes, Death Grips and Beach House. As for some older stuff, try listening to the Fall, Pixies, etc. from the 80s.

i suppose, though my songs are more electronic in their nature so perhaps id liken it more to boards of canada's approach to ambient songs versus more straightforward songs (maybe one day i can finally shake off my immediate likenesses to boards of canada). cryptograms might be my favorite deerhunter album though, the sound design is just so damn visual and gorgeous.

most certainly! the albums only half ambient, the opening and closing tracks are ambient where the meatier middle is more beat/song oriented stuff. part of me would feel like a jerk making an album of purely ambient songs but perhaps later on down the road ill work up the self confidence to do it

well i see you've listened to deerhunter's cryptograms which I find to be an incredible album, id suggest you also check out their album microcastle if you get the chance. also atlas sound's "let the blind lead those who can see but cannot feel" is also incredible if you havent heard it. checked out your tumblr by the way, appreciating that its called sunshine recorder and your photography is actually pretty gnarly. you should be hyped on that double exposure self portrait you did

Thanks for the friend request! If I had an iPod I bet The End would be in my top 3 overall tracks, if not my number 1. Once that baby comes on I have to listen to it about 3 or 4 more times :)
