@forablueguitar: the fire was in green 5 or 6. I had to get up at 2am because of a fight (drunk in wrong tent) and there was huge bonfire, with half-naked boys dancing round it. Smell of burning plastic v unsettling, esp. had only that day noticed the instructions on my tent: "pitch tents a minimum of 6 metres apart: tents are highly flammable". I have been to Glasto as well: an entirely different festival, much broader age range, much more about the event than simply the music, tents pitched within festival site so less of the problem with people coming back to tents pissed and still wanting to party. At T if you were over 25 you were in the absolute minority. Having said that, the music was more brilliant than I can say, well worth the trip (although next time I'd pitch right on the edge & book three days off work afterwards to catch up on sleep). The kids who didn't sleep also didn't have work to get back to...

After four Ts and my first Glastonbury this year I can confirm that Glastonbury is better than T in every conceivable way.

JuicyL: where was the fire?! the sound was very poor on the main stage, but I much prefer the tents anyway. foxes_: I know what you mean. I'm excited for going to something new next year. Primavera looks like the best thing in the world but that'd take a lot of saving up I'd expect. I think Latitude, End of the Road and Green Man look like they're at the top of my to visit in Britain list. If I had such a list. That's always gutting when you can't persuade anyone to come to something you really want to see. No Broken Social Scene for me for that very reason.

Broken Social Scene, Gossip, Empire of the Sun, Goldfrapp, Faithless... but didn't love the camping & lord of the flies breakdown of civilisation on the last night (who lit the fire??? I was expecting shouts of 'kill the pig'). Also what was with the sound on the main & NME stages? Florence and the Machine inaudible, and Eminem total wierdness on the mic.

i think i'm gonna give it a miss next year and hit end of the road festival. t is good and all but i just find the atmosphere quite harsh sometimes.. if that makes sense.

foxes_: don't be put off totally by one bad year. I had a crap time last year and wasn't too bothered about going this year but I did anyway and it's been the best one by miles. I might give T a miss next year and try and get to Latitude or something though. I'm still basking in the afterglow of Echo and the Bunnymen. They were phenomenal.

Echo and the Bunnymen can still show these young whippersnappers from the Editors how to do it, and they did, 'cause they were there watching. Good on youse! Other highlights - Dirty Projectors, Broken Social Scene, Frightened Rabbit, Mumfords, Meursault, Silver Columns, Madness, Goldfrapp, Sparrow and the Workshop, The Proclaimers and Tricky (booed off - what do they know!) That varied enough?

I bloody loved it. Though the walk to the arena was a fucking nightmare and totally killed any high between the arena and the campsite. The queues for everything pissed me off too.... the set up was poor, definitely but the music and the people were absolutely unreal. Highlights were the cribs, eminem and faithless.... totally mint

Cracking time as usual but that was more to do with being there with a great group of pals than a fantastic musical line-up. I would like to thank the event staff for not searching me allowing me to smuggle in a substantial carry out each day. I would also like to thank Paolo Nutini. He hides his talent well but he managed to empty NME Stage so I could get right up the front for The Black Keys.

The drums, frabbit, echo and mumford were all amazing. For all those who had a shit time, unlucky. Best one by miles for me.
