11th?! I really need to get into that top 10. You're still my number one, for what it's worth.

I had a shirt for a band called It Hugs Back which lead to an unexpected/unwanted amount of hugs whenever I wore it. I'd hate to see what the uninformed think when they see the New Pornographers t. I was far too into the Kooks back then as well, so a pretty dark period for me. But you're on your own with Mika. Did you burn a house down once you realised what you were listening to? If only it were possible to unhear things. On more then one occasion I've been upset about it being a Saturday as it means there no post. Its really quite pathetic. All townsvilles record stores were on the same street but only one is left since JB hifi opened. Its the size of a cupboard and is expensive, so I only really buy local bands cds there. Are there many good local bands in Melbourne? Vinyls cool but inconvenient I mostly only have 7"'s and my dads old records, as I prefer cds. Do people ever ask why you bother buying cds? I get it all the time and could honestly write a list of reasons.

I always wear my band shirt to uni for that very reason, but the closest I've ever gotten to proper acknowledgement is someone asking how my life could possibly be a song. barely spoken to her since. Where as my This Town Needs Guns shirt (with the Animals album cover on it) probably makes everyone think I go hunting. I have no high hopes for my new Copy Haho t, people just think its a bRand name. Every time I get a new CD, I have to rearrange a large part of my collection to fit it in properly. Though I stop short at alphabetical order - that would mean the Razorlight album I regretably bought as a 15 year old would be ahead of my Tubelord CD, amongst many others. Which is something I could never live with. Music stores here suck, so I love/have to mail order. Coming home to packages in the mail is like having mini birthdays every couple of weeks. I some times order stuff just to unwrap. I even started buy vinyl partially because the package is bigger so they leave it at my doorstep!

The Are You Hungry Now one was my first choice, but I was worried the colour and words would lead people (pfft people - what a bunch of bastards) to think it was a mcdonalds promotion shirt or something. I think you might be right about that compilation, all the good songs are on albums I already have and their isn't really any rare stuff or demos either. I basically wanted the Alcopop comp just so I'd have something to go with my new Big Scary Monsters one - I think I'm way to pedantic with my CD collection. I only ever got into Elephants once they'd broken up. Ages ago I saw a live clip of Take My Breath Away which was awesome, but couldn't find an mp3 so forgot about them until the farewell EP came out. I'd clearly been wasting my life up until that point. The whole zombie thing might be a solution to my photo anxiety...if only it was more socially acceptable to dress as a zombie every time I went out.

I am seriously considering turning it into a pillow now (not that the stuffed toy sleeping bag was any less of an incredibly creative idea). In fact, thats exactly what I'm going to do. I've got the Yr Life Is A Song shirt. I really want the cursed gramophone one but funds are lacking at the moment. Having your photo on the Alcopop compilation easily makes up for it - that label is ridiculously good at the moment. Though I have a complex about photos of myself, so having one on a CD might distress me a little. I was going to buy that CD actually... before I knew you were on it, of course (thought I'd better point that out). As for the stickers, I'm worried that if I put them on something that I can't take with me when I eventually move out I'll be devastated. My headphones come out when the skrillex goes on, even though it can be hard to socialise without being able to hear anyone else.

I'm all about spaces after fullstops, but I'll let it slide as I've had to filter my enthusiasm to make it fit too. I've still got the envelope from my first shirt too! I'd use it as a pencil case, but i only have one or two pencil, so maybe not. I should really put it on display with the frisbee and Every Cloakroom Ever Vinyl (Is your name on that?). I've got a collection of band stickers I can't bring myself to choosing an ideal spot for them - We really do live hard lives. I actually remember reading that Bloggy Foreigner post and signing up straight after. I also recall being massively jealous about you getting name checked. David Guetta? Okay he is truly awful, you win (except for when my friends were obsessed with Skrillex during one trip we went on).

I imagine it would be a little sad if I asked Jofo to write a note to me (or a friend of the same name?) with my next order, so the drawings on the envelope will suffice. To be fair, I'm being a bit dramatic too - a few of my friends have decent taste. But nothing is better than Garth Brooks! Just about everyone I know loves Kanye. I don't hate him, but i felt the need to walk out of his set at Splendour. Half because 45 minutes of massively pretentious lyrics being yelled into a shit mic, autotune and 'experimental dance' was enough, but also to annoy my friends. So many people can say they saw Kayne, not many can say they walked out. Oh I'm totally into squealing, but I don't think I'm yet ready to classify myself as a fangirl. I'm sure its lovely, but I'm just not ready for that commitment.

Oh wow! Thats the greatest thing I've ever seen! Did your friend get this while at one of their shows? I don't think 'unappreciative' even begins to sum up the friends who believe music begins and ends at Phil Collins or Garth Brooks. Which might go some way in explaining my need to escape to England. But this friend didn't like Hey Everyone!? Severe your ties with her Matilda, she's dead weight. Given the opportunity to meet more band members, I think I'd definitely be an obnoxious fan-boy every time. Though 'fan-girl' might better suit me in that situation. As for Alexei, given the bands constant money situation he doesn't seem like the sort of guy who needs much incentive to play - financial or otherwise.

I would definitely be requesting them all the time, but I've pretty much given up on the radio. No one wants to drive with me anymore because I only let them listen to albums or my ipod...its not selfish if its my car! I acted like the biggest fanboy to Dananana, but coupled with lots alcohol and cutting Paul off mid-sentence, the experience was more embarrassing then it needed to be. Oh yeah, forgot about the Bullring! I don't think I can wait the 2 years before I finish uni, especially if it meant I'd never see Jofo live. Luckily this new album will mean they'll surely be touring by the time you get over there. If not you can always do some of your 'research' to find out where Alexei lives and make him play a Yr Friends set for you. Nothing creepy about that last sentence...nothing at all.

They were amazing at Splendour, though I sadly missed the first couple of songs but made it in time to be nearly front and centre for wall of cuddles! Plus I spent the set exchanging thumbs up with Ryan, which caused me way more happiness then it really should. The only time an international band plays here is during Groovin' the Moo which can be great, but is mostly dull triple J fodder. Aside from that, if i really want to see someone I have to go to Brisbane. When moderately big bands (Bluejuice, British India, etc.) play here it rarely sells out anyway. Which makes it even sadder hearing Jofo play for 6 people in Germany or wherever. Haha, I'd probably go speechless if I got to speak to Ritzy! Aww man, going to the UK to see those smaller bands is exactly my plan once I finish uni, though I'm not sure Birmingham is an ideal tourist destination...

As i'm already a lazy old cynic, it shouldn't take long before that creeps its way into my posts. I like your anecdotes though, even if they have little to do with the music...so continue being as tired, bored and cynical as you like. I saw Dananana at Splendour, with them being the main reason I went. So meeting them was incredible (even if Paul seemed to dislike me). Do you live in Melbourne? If so, I'm green with jealous rage. Great bands always seem to play there, where as they go out of their way to avoid Townsville (understandly). That compatability rating makes me pretty damn happy, you have incredible taste in music. I was sure no one else in Australia had as great a taste as me ha. Some bands even seemed shocked that anyone in Australia is interested.

Hi There! Please don't judge me on my tumblr abilities, I'm pretty useless so far. And yes, this is the same Sean. Which makes me feel a little stalkerish, with all the stumbling upon you on every social network. But I'm still fighting to get Jofo here, evening begging Duncan and Paul from Dananananaykroyd to bring them along to their next tour here...I think I just scared them from ever coming back.

Ahhh, if I was at Splendour, I probably wouldn't have bothered seeing any of the Brightside bands either, except Band of Horses because I've been a fan for years and years. But they're really good! You should give them a listen. Arghhh, I know. I hate good festivals that waste their time on terrible artists (call me pretentious, haha). That's just an opinion. But yeah, I feel your pain! Yessss, the Billie gang are amazing. My dad came across them completely by chance (we share the same music tastes) and checked them out because he liked their name and them came to me, raving about how good they were, and I've been in love ever since :D They're definitely one of the most unique bands I've ever heard. Haha. I hope they keep going :)

I also like that you listen to Billie The Vision & The Dancers. I'm a massive fan. I think they're incredibly underrated. One of the main reasons I want to go to Europe is to see those guys ;D

Yeah, but it was VERY mini. It was an afternoon thing - we had The Middle East, Bluejuice, Art Vs. Science, Hot Chip, Band Of Horses, Angus & Julia Stone, Mumford & Sons and The Strokes. It was a nice day, but yeah, nothing on Splendour. I'd kill to go to it. Might see if I can get in next year. Yesss, I can't wait 'til I have enough money to go to the European festivals! It's gonna be so joy! Ahhh, you definitely need to listen to GIrls a bit more. They're amazing. And if you do some research on the lead singer's story growing up and stuff, it's like . phwoah. But yeah, SO JEALOUS. I'd kill to live in Melbourne.

Yeah, my friend and I bailed on whoever was before The Decemberists to see them for 20 minutes or so before going to Passion Pit. Oh, man; I'd cut off a leg and an arm to go to Splendour. I looked at this year's line-up and bawled my eyes out. We were thrown with 6 or 7 bands from Splendour with 'On The Brightside' festival. I was just happy to see Band Of Horses, really. Haha. But yeah, I've made it my mission to attend all summer festivals to make up for Perth's general fail on the festival side of things. WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU'RE SEEING GIRLS? Are they coming to Aus?? -dies- Yes, my blog title is a reference to those guys. They are incredible. I'd give ANYTHING to see them. They'd be absolutely fantastic. I'm so jealous of you right now :P

Dawh, thank you! :D I like yours too! :) Yeah, I did see them at BDO. They were really good, although my fave of the day was definitely Passion Pit - they were incredible. Sugar Army were really good too ;D Too bad next year's line up isn't as good ... I'm still going though ;) You going to many summer festivals? :)

Yeah I haven't heard it anywhere other than live, they've been playing it for a while, but I'm excited to hear a recorded version of it. I can give you Edith Wharton if you want. Save you actually having to do anything! Yeah I do know quite a lot of the people in that scene, but they just seem like regular people to me! If I met someone in a huge band, I'd have no idea what to say to them! Infact I have met people that I haven't known what to say to. But I got to know loads of people through living with Sam, so it wasn't that weird when they're sleeping on your living room floor and stuff! was it their show or were they playing with someone else? kinda weird that no one knew who she was though. cool that they played out there though, i don't really know them that well, but it's cool that they played in australia.

Unfortnately not! I'm not sure if I ever had a full aussie accent, despite moving there when I was 3, I was always told that I sounded english, and then when I moved back to england people told me I sounded Australian! Sometimes when I tell people that I used to live in Australia they're like "yeah, I could kind of tell you were from there, you pronounce some things a little different" but I'm almost certain they're lying. It's rarely ever happened that someone's asked if I'm from somewhere else without me mentioning it at all. Yeah I kinda know Tellison, I mean I only know them from them being a band, but they always say hi when I see them and we chat. I don't think Wasp's Nest is on the new album. Have you got Edith Wharton? It was put out in the BSM '10 Collection in Jan. That's on the new album I'm fairly sure. I've been waiting their album for so long! I can't wait 'til Collarbone is released, only a month to go, but still gotta wait 'til next year for the album :(

I was born in London and then lived in Sydney from '89 until '97, I was 11 when I left, but it still feels like a big part of my identity you know? I'm really hoping I can go to that show, but it's in Kingston so unless I can stay at someone's I can't really go 'cause I can't get home as I don't drive. I'm a huge fan of Tellison though, I've seen them 24 times! I hadn't seen them for a year and 5 days and then I saw them just the other day and I finally saw them again. It was different 'cause I'm used to knowing all the words, but they played mostly new stuff, but it sounded good, just I didn't know it... The Xcerts played too, you don't seem to have listened to them? I don't know. If you haven't and it's their awful name that's putting you off, then just look past that! I thought they were crap based just on their name, but then Sam Isaac (do you know of him?) had them playing with him at his two last ever shows and I was like "wow this band is incredible". I thought that was

i was hoping that you wouldn't take offense to me calling australian music shit, and then my defense was gonna be that i actually have dual nationality of england and australia so i'm allowed to say it! it must totally suck being into all these bands that you may never get to see, i hate to rub it in but most of them are great live haha. how do you get to know about bands over here?

Haha pretty much all I do is listen to music! I am from tumblr, but I found you independently of that, I was looking at Elephants on here and you were a top listener, although I probably wouldn't have added you if I hadn't recognised your picture from tumblr! how come you're so into the music over here? probably 'cause they only have shit music in australia, right?

i liked little comets and tellison lots, some of little comets reminds me a bit of boy kill boy (i don't see em in your list, you should check them out too). let's see.. what you might like. you don't seem too fond of screaming. one of my fav bands is secondsmile, their last album has no screaming. you might like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sjnKRoTk68 <3 this town needs guns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZgsd_rlGLo i was a cub scout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf1aSkem3r0 kyte (this band's a bit slow, so relax when you listen :] ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dR2F_InVpis (these bands are a few years old, don't know if you've heard of em but i don't see em in your list)
