Greetings from the other side of the globe. I'm impressed with the quantity of concerts you've been too. Some good quality bands in there too. Which ones are your fav's and least favs? Any must see bands on your list?

I actually don't have any! Nick guards that stuff ferociously: there's a cover of them doing Rihanna's Umbrella which is AMAZING and he won't let have a copy, even though I've asked numerous times :( Might be worth asking him yrself, he's a super lovely dude: http://www.last.fm/user/superelitist

I'm oh so lacking in music lately too, my internet is so slow I've only been downloading music when I can hack vulnerable wifi (and I'll download your recommendation thenn). But you could try Yoni Wolf's first project, cLOUDDEAD. And Tame Impala's new album if you haven't already. (ps. are you still at RMIT?)

Oh Shrodes, tell me something I don't know (like a new amazing music recommendation?)! (and by the way how are you?)

oh thanks heaps! It wasn't me on their formspring.. though I have asked them on their blog if they'd maybe come visit, but they dont have a big enough following down here yet I don't think.... oh and if you have any friends who like Johnny Foreigner maybe give them a gentle nudge in the direction of my super awesome group :)

Hi! I'm trying to get a facebook group for aussie Johnny Foreigner fans started with the intention of maybe possibly getting them played on the radio.. which might then snowball into a tour... I'm being very optimistic I know but it's worth a try.. so I'd be super grateful if you could maybe join: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Get-Johnny-Foreigner-To-Australia/125434280810213?ref=ts

Oh man, I wish I had been paying attention to this shotbox. How is life, internet friend?

Oh my, it seems I'm not actually enjoying The Format... If their singer was the one who moved onto fun., then I must say the break up was for the better. My opinion, of course.

SHOTBOX. It's a metaphor. Obviously. And thekillingspree is TOO LAME TO BE IN OUR EXCLUSIVE SHOTBOX CLUB. suck it.

Even though I'm sure I know some more Aussie folks around here, it makes more sense when I remember of you as 'that Australian guy'. Oh man, quixentric and you are "shotbox" buddies. I always wanted a shotbox buddy, but since I have terrible aim nobody wants to be near me in the same shotbox :(

I've only known The Format and Anathallo by name, I've never heard anything from them. But fun. is nice and refreshing, thank you.

I'm listening to "Aim and Ignite" right now and I must say the band's name perfectly describes their music. Such jolly tunes! His voice reminds me of some other band that I cannot remember right now which one is it...

Thank you! I will check it out as soon as I get home later today. I do enjoy a bit of old fashioned pop every now and then. Too much anti-mainstream attitude is simply not good for your mental health. I'll let you know my opinion on that band (one I've never heard of before) once I get to listen to that album.

I find it a funny thing that I enjoy "Songs For The Road" more, because I consider it to be a more mellow album, and I'm not really a mellow music kind of person. But somehow I feel that Mr Ford is at his best whenever he writes something gloomy and bleak (probably not the right words, but I hope you get what I'm saying). Both albums are amazing, though. And now the third one feels like a cherry on top (even though, to me, it sounds like his most "Americanized" album to date, and that's not cool). Oh my, I just noticed you're an Aussie! I've mistaken you for a British David Ford and Los Campesinos! enthusiast. My bad! But I definitely appreciate the British taste you have for your music.

I must confess something that I'm ashamed of: I own all three David Ford's EPs but have barely given them any attention. I just remember his cover of Easyworld's classic "Demons" (doing a cover of himself, how odd is that?), which is lovely and all that, but not a patch on the original. I feel tempted to say they're worth the trouble of being listened to, but I do need to actually listen to them first in order to say such thing :P We do share a similar taste in music and I'm confident you'll enjoy The Radio Dept. That's why I'm here sharing their latest album (not out yet) with you: http://tr.im/Rf3g ;)

Also, not sure if it's your thing, but just in case it is, the new Radio Dept. album is the bee's knees! Probably the best thing I've listened to this year. If it's not your thing, then I apologize for this boring and perhaps irrelevant moment.

I'm not that familiar to the whole Waffles.fm thing, but I was able to survive just fine until now without it. Also, the new David Ford album has been floating around Rapidshit/Meegaupload and similar websites for some time already. But if you'd rather wait... ;) Anyhoo, his two albums are great indeed (I must confess I'm a sucker for the more mellow "Songs For The Road" myself). It's hard for people to get to know about a very underrated singer from a very underrated band (Easyworld). The band didn't get that much attention, so when David started his solo career, I'm sure he wasn't expecting much attention either. Which does make him a genuinely underrated artist. That being said, you should check his album as soon as you're able to get it, really :D

You should definitely take a look (I mean, a listen) at his new album. As usual, Mr Ford can do no wrong. "Let The Hard Times Roll" has one of the most amazing openers I have had the pleasure of listening to in quite some time. Yes, I find that song to be that good! If you have any trouble finding it just lemme know. Anyway, don't forget, Filestube is your buddy on such occasions ;)
