"Your compatibility with YouNeverShould is Very High. You both listen to Talking Heads, Demi Lovato and Echo & the Bunnymen" So, we're both Lovatics, which makes sense!

Hah! Have YOU heard any good Glenn Frey songs lately, Brad? Something you want to get off your chest?? Is this you reaching out to me--a severely lapsed Catholic with frankly stunted capacity for spiritual advice--to hear your confession, lest you expire in self-isolation without having balanced your books with Himself? 🙏📿

Since you listen to Cambodian music you may also like reading my article on Cambodian music. http://www.laboratoriummuzycznychfuzji.com/2013/06/labopedia-muzyka-kambodzy-panstwa-w.html If you like it you may also click "lubię to" button to like my website (on the right handside of the page). Ah thank you! I do love a birra Jarman and his crazy stylings, you should check out some of George Kuchar's films if you like that type of thing. Oh and the documentary the person in the comment below mentioned is definitely worth a watch if you can find it. Very interesting.

have you heard "perfect life," the new belong track yet? seems the album could be a big disappointment but then i've only liked a handful of gazey records released in the last couple of years tbh.

glad to hear it :) yeah, all's good thanks. i'm just busy busy busy with work and studying (hence hours spent procrastinating online) and don't seem to have time for much else. i don't think we were ever super before!

i finally listened to foxbase beta the other day and it was really very nice. it's cool that the entire thing was reworked, such a classic album.

the c*nt i'm downloading foxbase beta from hasn't been online since the day you told me, it's driving me mad. funny that bethany curve are delaying like that since tbh they're relatively prolific, hopefully they're perfecting their magnum opus... and we'll never, ever see another my bloody valentine record (and it's a crying shame).

depends at which moment of any given day you ask me! i'm very glad that i'm doing it, the whole education thing. finally! i knew it would be very hard, but it's not that it's any harder than i'd imagined, more that it's hard in ways i wasn't expecting sometimes. it can be a little demoralising! i'm actually doing very well so far though, on paper. just need to work out how to make reaching the end goal a little less agonising and a great deal more efficient! how the devil are you, brad?

np, i was excited to hear something from your state! haha, had no idea if it would be close enough, though i'm not sure he even performs. i did not know about foxbase beta but i'll sure as shit be listening to it tonight when i get home from work, thanks for the nod! i just realised i'd not responded about bethany curve, and i saw a few people shouting on here that they were going to put a new record out this year and i wishlisted the title and everything on slsk when i first heard but since then i don't know anything about it all, have they recorded it yet? on a related subject, and just because it excited me just as much as the bethany curve news, should also have a new album in the making! i'm sure i must have mentioned should on the forums before but i don't really know, if you've not heard their first two albums then it's really, really good stuff. first album from them in 15 years! of course, when it comes to new shoegaze material, we're all still waiting for the big one!

yeah i only heard about ari up the other day. it's definitely sad that she died like that, but what a fucking career she had. so what you been getting into lately b-rad? if you've not heard "ardour" by teebs then you should get on it. best thing brainfeeder have ever done and probably my favourite release since "jesu," and you witnessed my splooge fest when that came out... ;)

just got done with some dum dum girls, though i didn't get an lp i managed to find the "longhair" 7" and a 12" called "yours alone" that were both really nice, definitely liking this stuff, i also realised that i'd heard her in a side project she has called the mayfair set which is also really good stuff if you've not already checked it out. if you're into this psych stuff that everyone seems to be crazy over at the moment have you heard best coast? she used to be a member of pocahaunted a while ago but now she's just on her own, her song "up all night" captures the sound of this genre perfectly for me.

i just finished listening to "grandeur of hair" and it's fierce! i absolutely love it on first listen, especially the track "croatan," i love how it's somehow even louder than "occasion," something tells me i need to go on a bit of a binge with this band at some point, i'm impressed to say the least. i'm glad you liked tune-yards by the way, i don't know what it is but there is something i really love about that album. it's one of my favourite albums of 2009 for sure along with "drift" by nosaj thng, "hospice" by the antlers and "wind's poem" by mout eerie which i have to say is an incredible record that you should get on asap. only heard it for the first time as well earlier this evening but it's his best release under that alias by a long long way, though as i type this i am not so sure you like phil elverum anyway.

i've not heard dum dum girls actually, so i'll check it out, didn't know marissa nadler had a new one either. i really like that micachu album, especially "just in case," if you like that you should check out "bird-brains" by tune-yards if you haven't heard that already, or if you just want a song to get started with go with "jamaican." i will also check out that other goslings record since i've been meaning to go deeper with them ever since i first listened to them really.

i really like "occasion" but haven't had a chance to check out any of their other stuff yet, i particularly like the acousticy track they have on there, "incense of death," it's a strange song for them to put on the record but for some reason it just works so well when you play the lp right through. if you are a fan of their earlier stuff then let me know what i should get from them! :) what about 2009, more generally, which releases have impressed you the most this year? i don't really get recs from anyone anymore since i've stopped posting.

just heard pukers and went to their shoutbox to have a look and saw that you and nate both got there in december 2007, so you may have been 6 days late but i was nearly two years late! it would be worse if i'd liked them, mind, though i've only been listening to a new release so maybe the other stuff is good.

the whole album is very 'feelgood' for me as opposed to please mr gravedigger which is more absurd and amusing (as you will hear when you get it). That video is the opening to an old ps1 game so the graphics were pretty ace for the day. I hit power and sat through that and was sold :) Followed by at least 80-100 hours of escape to that world. No girls gone wild but lots of angst and one chipper girl in a mini that John was quite taken with.

ah no, it was a sixth degree of separation type thing, meaning gaming was how I ended up listening to one such as he. Redemption and Longing are both written for Dirge of Cerberus which was a spinoff game of final fantasy VII. first song I found was illness illusion after mucking my way through trying to get the albums I wanted without speaking/reading japanese. Nobuo Uematsu is a composer for final fantasy games that I listen too as well. He actually formed a metal-ish band called The Black Mages that plays most of the FF songs...closest I'd normally get to metal :D

I was watching Moon Child last night actually, after the Shining (just for kicks) which prompted the expected "I know they have pretty faces but they're packages are still really tiny" commentary from the man about house and it ended up with me realizing that there's actually only 4 japanese bands that I really listen to regularly. Compared to the US, UK, Norweigen (sp?) bands I listen to it's not really that much. It more puts it in the same bracket as the canadian bands I listen too (probably a half dozen). Youtube Illness Illusion and you'll hear a short song that pretty much explains why I listen. Gaming music is huge for me, that's how I end up listening to cafe tacuba as well.
