1996: Negate from Wallonia began to practice 1997: The band recorded a split 7" with a French hardcore band on a Belgian HxC label. Later that year they went back in studio to record their first mini CD "Between anger and pain" on the same Belgian HxC label 2000: The first album "The fifth season" came out. The band had a great time touring in Spain. "Tragik Circus" was recorded 4 months after "The fifth season". That mini CD shows Negate at their best for the year 2001. 2001: "Tragik circus" was released on Dark Sun Records and Negate made their first video clip called ‘summertime’. The style of the band turned into a real powerful, dark and intense metalcore. They played some good shows like the Dour fest and in Germany on their awesome mini tour. Thanks to the press and interviews, to the success of "Tragik circus" and gigs, some record companies showed interest for the band and made some contract offers. In April, Negate signed a contract with Voice of Life Records for the release of the second album and 4th CD "The dead guy palace". Negate played a lot of shows in support of this album: "Goodlife New Year" fest and different shows in Belgium. 2002 : Negate signed a contract with Goodlife recordings. Greg leaves the band so there’s a need for a new line-up. Negate played some good shows like support slots for: "Paul Di Anno" (ex Iron Maiden), "Samael", "The Gathering"… 2003: "Enemy" is out on Goodlife recordings. This is Negate's 5th production. JP (ex-Death before disco) has replaced Arnaud on vocals.
