The Bloody Beetroots Live

Imagine the love child of the Misfits and Daft Punk; the act of conception would be grisly, but what a mighty offspring their union would generate. A formidable force a la the Bloody Beetroots. Their shows are the perfect blend between a rave party and a punk concert! Having blazed through the Rockhal back in 2011 with the Death Crew 77 live band, the Italian electro renegades are no strangers to Luxembourg and on 14 March 2013 they are set to return with a brand new album.
The Bloody Beetroots is Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, the Italian producer born the same year as punk rock, a fact emphatically made clear by the '1977' tattooed across his chest. In fact, that tattoo is about the most identifying public feature of Rifo, whose penchant for wearing masks seems to be a declaration of ominous anonymity that defers the spotlight to his long list of productions, projects, films, art, manifestoes and musical incarnations emanating from The Bloody Beetroots production epicenter. From the start, The Bloody Beetroots was capable of synergizing sonics and sensibilities, the anthemic wistfulness of new wave and primal screams of hardcore punk.
Following the Church Of Noise remixes, featuring the voice of Refused frontman Dennis Lyxen, the recent “Rocksteady “single is taking charge of dance floors over the world. Another release in 2012 was the collaboration with Greta Svabo Bech of deadmau5 “Chronicles of a fallen love” which is all about the minimal harmony build up that explodes into raving electric guitar heaven.
Yet the Bloody Beetroots will be returning to Luxembourg with not only a brand album but also a brand new live show. “I can not tell you much except that it will be a big step forward, both musically and theatrically speaking. Having played my songs with Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 and the DJ set, I have gained a new vision of the project - a more versatile, compact, furious and dance-inducing vision” Rifo explains.
