Most of these bands are just emo, post-hardcore, standard hardcore or even alternative metal, but not properly melodic hardcore like Bad Religion, Pennywise, Lagwagon, Gorilla Biscuits, Dag Nasty, etc. Even some people trying to state those are actually "skate punk" but come on dude, even powerviolence bands can be labeled as skate punk so i don't know the purpose to make a distinction, jesus!
