Frankie Teardrop might be the most uncomfortable track I have ever heard. I've listened to a lot of dark, edgy music but god damn that track is so hypnotic and disturbing, I find myself living inside the story of the track, desperately trying to get out. All the credit to Alan Vega and Martin Rev for having this kind of impact on me.

No, Kraftwerk was unequivocally responsible for the synthpop, techno, and industrial dance sounds of the 80s and 90s (oh, and the 70s). Plus they actually made music. I love when these pretentious turd hack writers desperately try to find something so obscure and unique and then claim they were the influential founders of ______. Oh, wow! You're so special Wilson Neate! Of course, we know Wilson Neate is not special in any way whatsoever, except that he is able to keep such a flimsy facade intact for his entire life. But hey, that's most of society, and therefore it is not special. In fact, Wilson probably wrote the material on Last.fm himself under the guise of someone who might actually respect him. The Suicide debut isn't all that bad, and I've heard some of Vega's solo stuff, but let's be real with it.

These guys were so different but they were very unapologetic about it. Very badass.

No shit Sherlock, I guess, but still - weirdness & wildness of the self-titled debut is amazing. Unique vibe. Feels like a synthpop-went-wrong record designed for Buffalo Bill's private dancing. Even when Alan is singing soft "erotic" songs - you have an uneasy feeling / morbid expectation of him to freak out and strangle Cheree while screaming his guts out like a lunatic

Can't get enough of Frankie Teardrop. Amazing how groundbreaking their music was back in '77. Strange that they aren't as praised as other early Industrial acts such as TG, CV and Einstürzende Neubauten, while their style as just as influential. William Bennett obviously liked this.
