I am going insane how 'Cowards' has incredible potential and how it is difficult to get into. I mean, for me it has quite big entry threshold, but man... It is beautiful record. I will get into it the next day, the next week, the next month. But the invested time **will** worth it. I so much love 'Crispy Skin'. I love textures and layers throughout the album. I admire dynamic of the record. It is development both 'Bright Green Field' and 'O Monolith' towards Talk Talk-ish post-rock with art rock and krautrock influence. But is isn't blind copy of original. It is not even rework. It is just closest thing in my mind to compare with. I love they have __their__ sound, easily distinguishable among the British scene today. They don't copy anybody, they create their own world with the albums. Thank you Squid, you did it again. Hit the sky, grow the more.

obviously a talented band but imo I'm finding their output underwhelming. don't think they've recaptured the freshness/energy of those early eps.

idk how you can hear something like crispy skin or showtime and call it poppy bs, not every song needs to be hyper all the time you know

I will hold Cowards dearly for many years to come, the excitement and anticipation I had for it was immense and sonically it gave me what I needed rather than what I wanted or expected which I respect even more from an artist, fell so hard in love with it a couple of listens after and solidifying it as my favorite Squid project easily. Pull off what you wanna do, set yourself apart from the crowd and do it greatly.

Their first show of their new tour in Liverpool was incredible. You're all in for a treat, new album is already so tight live.

Initially I thought 'O Monolith' had been bad but then I've been like 'wtf it is even better than first LP' (which I love very much)

So I'm listening to them for the first time right now, specifically to "Undergrowth", and I'm curious, did anyone else get the feeling like they were at least somewhat inspired by Young Knives?

Then we must've been right next to each other in line because there were only 3 of those that I saw and my buddy scooped up the last one
