Biography
The band SIELA was formed in the beginning of 1990 and since that time they’ve released 9 albums. The works “Beyond the field of vision” 1994, “Exile” 1997 are well known in European gothic scene. The band was interviewed/reviewed in many gothic fanzines and the songs of SIELA were included into many various compilation, etc. ( Latests compilation CD‘s: collection of eastern Europe‘s most promising bands „Dark East“ 2004 Poland (Big blue rec.) and „GOTH“ is what you make it 2004 Germany ( Batbeliever/ Indigo)
The songs of the band sound in Lithuanian TOP - 20, Radio and TV. SIELA had a lot of gigs in Lithuania and abroad, festivals like “ Wave Gothic Treffen - 5” 1996 (Germany); „II Night of mysterious“ 1996 (Germany); “Bizzare – 2“ 1997 (Germany); “Forte Riga 2000” (Latvia); “Castle party 2001” (Poland); ”Kunigunda Lunaria 2002 -2003” and “Menuo juodaragis 2001- 2002– 2003” (Lithuania); „Wave Gothic Treffen - 13“ 2004 (Germany) and etc.
Now SIELA is working on a new program and material for the new CD. New song „The Crow“ from forthcoming album are dedicated to Brandon Lee. Our songs are sung in English –Lithuanian languages; it gives a chance to balance between the east and west without loosing our originality. In our music we try to employ some strongly melodic and unique Lithuanian folk melodies mixed with guitar and electro voices. The line-up of SIELA now such: Aurelius –vocals, guitar, Deadman - guitar, Krakanosh – keyboards, Shamane – drum -percussion, Hokshila – percussion. The lyrics express the short- sightedness of our memory, the atmosphere of a total indifference surrounding us, spiritual poverty and cold where strange nameless heroes appears and disappears again…All it‘s so real and near at you, but at the same time, all it‘s unreal and far.
