What in the world is a parquet court? The band is called parquet courts so does that mean that each individual member is a parquet court? I just don't get it.

    Sure but the highlights of the show were definitely the older songs. Only banger off the new record live was Walking at a Downtown Pace. And perhaps Just Shadows but I just happen to be fond of that song.

A couple of runs through Sympathy for Life now. To me, it isn’t quite the tour de force that Wide Awake! was, but still fantastic. These guys are the face of the current wave of indie rock/post-punk revival.

This has become one of my favorite bands over the last couple of years, as I've been methodically listening each of their albums. I guess it would be fair for them to receive more recognition for the kind of art they're doing here, but at the same time I think this band is just great at this cult level. I listen to Light Up Gold when I wanna rock and feel energized. I listen to Human Performance when I'm maybe a little sad and moody but angry. I listen to Wide Awake! when I wanna party but also go "Dammmnnnnn that's good..." at A Savage's lyrics and Austin's bass lines. I'll get back to you on Sunbathing Animal.
