I can’t agree with any boycotts of this band, fuck Scott Kelly, but the other guys worked too hard on this to let it all fade away. It’s not fair to the other members.

I love Neurosis. They hit a spot in the emotional spectrum that most bands can’t even comprehend, let alone hit. For that, I will always have them in rotation. If somebody disagrees with that, it’s their business and I respect their opinion. It’s tough though, I grew up in an environment similar to what his kids probably experienced and it was fucking horrible. When you’re not getting the shit kicked out of you by a manipulative addict, you’re living in absolute dread and fear about getting the shit kicked out of you by a manipulative addict. That stays with you…..You don’t need to have experienced that type of pain to empathize but it adds a little bit of extra anger towards that loser for me. On top of that, you absolutely ruined the band name for your “brothers”. He turned to shit everything he touched and should have just walked into the ocean instead of ruining everyone’s life. Whatever little shithole he exiled himself to, I hope he never knows a moment of peace.

I didn't know the vocalist was a piece of shit. I suppose you can't wear now Neurosis merch without someone touching your balls.

I'm not from USA, but I checked with a VPN - Times of Grace is available on Spotify for the United States. So, yeah, it's a regional thing

well more bad news, Jason Roeder is selling all of his equipment and appears to me retiring from music himself.

I found out about the Scott Kelly stuff way late and at first it didn't register, or I didn't know what to make of it. Soon, however, it became difficult to separate the art from the artist, and I found myself having to switch off the music halfway in between albums. Neurosis absolutely isn't one person, but that person has had a lot of influence on the music. And I can hear. It's like how "I want to run away, never say goodbye" (and every other lyric) became hard to listen to after Chester's passing.

I've been on a "A Life Unto Itself" kick and man I forgot how amazing that album is.

For me, their art has become more subversive than ever. Obviously, I have a strong aversion to Scott's actions. However, Neurosis isn't just made up of him. I love this band and what it has conveyed to me for many years. Thank you, Neurosis.

I guess not technically, but if they don't ever replace Scott Kelly, then yea they pretty much have. It's been indefinite hiatus for like...5 years now.

I remember the concert in Mexico City as one of the best expierences in my life. I’ts really a shame all the fucked up situation of Scott Kelly, but I really hope that the remaining members continue with the proyect because this band is just amazing.

fuck spotify. Seriously. There are dozens of other options for listening to this music that don't involve Spotify, which has done so so little for artists and their living. This shouldn't be news to anybody.

Exactly. On top of all that, the quality is garbage. Listen to a song on Spotify, then go listen to that same song on Bandcamp, or a flac version of it….night and day. If that’s not enough, you pay to not own music and they dictate what is or not on there. So people pay money to not even get everything they want.

And yet it's by far the most descriptive term for the type of post-metal Neurosis play

listening to neurosis' music can keep people away from doing harm to others, can prevent them from becoming another scott kelly.. a neurosis emerges from repressed needs and feelings, which everyone of us have in our subconsciousness, waiting for their bait. this band still helps me through dark times. a world without neuroses wouldn't need this band. to all those moralists - every single one of you carries some sort of guilt.

Woke hipsters, most likely. Neurosis without Scott Kelly is sad to see. However, his mental health has been spiraling out of control for his whole life and he has to try to heal. Good luck to him, he has a lot of demons to battle.

Congratulations Captain Obvious! You've won. You managed to the spot the thing. Scott Kelly's abuse has nothing to do with enjoying music and buying out. No one cares about virtue signaling. Enjoy the music or don't. The Law of Attraction is absolute and the man will suffer on the wavelength he put the people around him in.

That's a turn of events, I wasn't aware until recently, but I think we all suspected some sort of turmoil. Art is not the artist. All sorts of fucked up people do fantastic, even legendary work constantly. You can harvest the benefits of anything without seeing eye to eye with its maker, and pretty much everyone alive constantly does. My enjoyment of Neurosis was never tied to a "morality background check". What I get out of the music is mine alone, the members of Neurosis as individuals, separate from the Neurosis entity, can't change that.

cool fact about Roeder: every cymbal on his kit is a ride. even the hi-hat is just two rides against each other. he doesn't use any other kind of cymbal.

Havent listened to Neurosis for the good part of a decade. Hearing Scott Kelly leaving made me make a mad dash for what vinyls i could get my hands on. It feels good listening to them again.

Of all the harsh revelations regarding musicians I respected and loved, this is easily the most devastating. God dammit, Scott.

I can think of possible worse endings, like they could all die in a car crash or smth... At least they still have their solo projects, also they didn't say that Neurosis is over yet...

Goddamn, can't like anybody anymore, feels like every month another artist I respect and love turns out to be a piece of shit. Thanks for fucking up your family and ruining one of the greatest bands ever, Scott. Fifteen years of fandom down the fucking drain, can't even listen to their stuff anymore knowing this shit. I guess you'd have to be fucked up to make music like theirs anyway, but I never thought he was the type the beat up his wife and kids. I guess the old adage "never meet your idols" holds true once again.

" Compared to the impact of Scott’s actions on his family, the impact on our band pales in significance. Nevertheless, with the heartbreak and horror we also grieve for the loss of our life’s work and a legacy that was sacred to us." The rest of the band said it best, here, imo, and I think this is how it feels for fans too. This work and legacy meant a lot to so many people. It sucks to have that tarnished now and lose some of its meaning.
