I saw them live last week at Sweden rock festival. They were dope as hell. If you ever get the chance, go see them!

Releasing a remaster of your not even 3-years old album in the 2020s? It's not like they didn't have the technology or the money the first time, eh .. anyway, here's to another round of Immutable: https://blabbermouth.net/news/meshuggah-announces-immutable-the-indelible-edition-shares-ligature-marks-music-video

I listened to both masters normalized to same loudness and actually prefer the originals in terms of dynamics. The remaster sounds too compressed and a bit over limited to me. For example, track 10 - I Am That Thirst is 3 LUFS louder than the original, which was -9 LUFS-I, loud enough (I compared them in Audition). However, in terms of bass the remaster is night and day difference - it sounds phat. You can see it clearly in the frequency response graph if you check it. There's also (most likely) an Exciter in the master chain if you peep the harmonics in the remaster. I honestly will be alternating between versions lol. I think they both have their cons/pros and each deserves a proper listen. I'd describe the original as more dynamic and warm on the mid-range, and the remaster louder and brighter (specially vocals).

The upper mids crunch and cut better, and the sub bass punches harder in the remaster. I had actually done a remaster 3 years ago for my personal collection, very similarly. The reissue sounds great.

Boas.

Have you looked at the state of Sweden recently? They have all reason to be angry.

Is that the reason why it's the most played song? Sorry, all I know of them is "Catch 33".

"being pushed / marketed the most" — Mate, we're talking about Meshuggah, not fucking Nightwish. 😂 I worked at Nuclear Blast when "Catch Thirtythree" was released, and the marketing budget for that album was about 28p (with a complimentary bratwurst). 😂

We dont do that over here...we dont EVER talk about Nightwish. Death to all Nightwish fans.

Well, then replace Nighwish with any other commercially successful band that can be described as "mainstream".
