L.A.B’s groove blends an eclectic mix of reggae, electronic, blues, funk and rock - all combining to create a sound entirely their own. Formed by drummer & producer Brad Kora, L.A.B comprises his brother Stu Kora, Ara Adams-Tamatea, Miharo Gregory & frontman Joel Shadbolt. L.A.B released their debut album in 2017, releasing a new album every year since.
L.A.B made their name on the live stages of New Zealand and won Radio New Zealand’s publicly-voted Best Live Act of 2019, with this reputation seeing them play to over 200,000 people that year. Their fourth album, L.A.B IV in 2020 debuted at Number One on the Official Album Charts, while single ‘Why Oh Why’ reached Number One on the Official Top 40 Singles Chart. Their hit single ‘In The Air’ peaked at Number One in 2020, and has remained in the charts ever since. L.A.B’s success story continues - selling-out arenas and stadiums, dominating the charts, and being awarded People's Choice and Best Roots Artist at the 2020 Aotearoa Music Awards.

2021 saw L.A.B headline a number of festivals across NZ, alongside sold-out arena and stadium shows in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington & New Plymouth. Their new album, L.A.B V, is their fifth in five years, and has again reached Number One in New Zealand.

L.A.B continue to assert themselves as one of NZ’s hardest-working acts, with no signs of slowing down. 2022 has already seen them perform three huge summer shows in New Zealand, including shows at Hagley Park in Christchurch and at Auckland’s iconic Western Springs. March/April 2022 saw L.A.B perform marquee sets at the iconic Byron Bay Bluesfest & WOMADelaide Festivals, and play five capacity shows to over 30,000 people, including shows at HOTA Gold Coast, Fremantle Park and more.
