In the whitest guy way possible: my biggest inspiration. I picked up the guitar at 11 years old, and had an internet connection and a vinyl record player, and that was it. No mentor or teacher, no clue how to read music in any regard and that includes tablature, slow fingers, and about any other bad thing you can think about with playing guitar. I remember at that time, I was getting really into punk music. Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, basically all of the basics. To me, fast playing immediately meant HARD, didn't matter if it was just three power chords with the most basic strumming pattern. But, for some reason, in my hard, blues licks seemed so much easier. So, I had my brother who was a little experienced with guitar to tune down to Eb, and would religiously listen to Jimi Hendrix on vinyl and watch live performances - and I mean RELIGIOUSLY. Usually about 5-6 hours a day doing this, and it changed my life.

No one else is like this guy. So far ahead of his time. Easily one of the music GOATs.

Of all the musical artists that i had a chance to catch live back in the day, Jimi is the one that i regret the most not seeing:^{^)

Not the best guitarist of all time but definitely the best of his generation, by a long a shot. ;-;7

Is it true he could play right handed too? Ron Wood said he saw him play just as well

No way haha after 20 years of playing im still nowhere close to that. I can get through hey joey half decent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0_1P3T-U3Y Learning stuff note by note like that is really hard to memorize. Its easier to get in the zone so to speak and try to play figure what scales and chords he is using and then sorting winging it.. like jimi did. Figuring Hendrix out on guitar is like learning thousands of little licks and putting them together in the moment so every bit of new recordings helps because it showcases his playing better than the albums sometimes.

Thanks man. Half decent for trying to play that song for 15 years haha! Jimi didnt even play the guitar for 15 years lmao Studio takes are also often not mixed like the record so its more of the guy just playing and less of 100k$ worth of gear put into work to make it sound the way it does. Its like being in the same room listening to what is going on.

uma vez lanny gordin disse: “jimi hendrix, quando você faleceu o seu espírito entrou no mundo da música que só tem música ao seu redor e assim você é assombroso, estupendo e maravilhoso, é por isso que eu admiro você jimi hendrix”

in 1966, an unknown jimi hendrix asked to get on stage with the 'guitar god' eric clapton. he cut through 'killing floor', which clapton had always said was "too difficult to play live", the day hendrix killed god.

you can thank the Jimi Hendrix estate and Sony Music rather, who have consistently been selling all of the Experience music as just Jimi since his death.

Personally if it wasn't such a painstaking task to reorder all of my 3000+ scrobbles, I might actually do it.

I think it might be Spotify alone, since Apple Music uses "The Experience" correctly.

I'm guessing Apple Music corrects it themselves then or lets users correct it or something, while Spotify just puts in whatever the label / publisher puts in for artist name and doesn't care
