In the Deep Space Nine episode “The Magnificent Ferengi”! It’s one of my personal faves (outside of his appearance) cuz it’s absolutely hilarious. Plus it has Keevan in it :) (he’s one of my favorite characters in the whole show lol). Iggy Pop plays an alien character named Yelgrun and is honestly so good at playing a Vorta, idk why they never had him reappear (though I imagine the cost would be a factor, especially since it was near the end of the show.

The secret to Iggy's immortality and willingness to keep going is he's actually a zombie

Been on an Iggy binger lately and then Every Loser drops and it's like the best stuff he's done since Instinct (imo).

Every Loser seems mediocre at best and Neo Punk is just plain embarassing, like a bad Offspring b-side

Same. It really hyped me up. Then I heard Frenzy and liked that, too. I hope the album's as good.

Happy 75th birthday, Iggy! Though I think you might do something else than hanging on last.fm... but just in case :)

Paul Trynka's 'Open Up & Bleed' [2007] is a pretty definitive account which includes interviews with Iggy as well as many close to him and he's endorsed the book himself, so hardly "gossip"...although of course one should never let the truth get in the way of a good story (Mark Twain I think). A Twitter account is something altogether different, but to claim Iggy's been "straight edge" since 1982 is incorrect. According to a 2003 Rolling Stone interview, yes he stopped using heroin altogether around '83 (soon after those brilliant but f***ed-up '81/'82 tours but who really knows?), but didn't quit coke, ecstasy, dope and cigarettes until the late '90s. At time of writing he still enjoyed red wine and Cuban coffee (and probably still does), so straight-edge in the classic sense? Nope. But he's certainly led a regular kind of life for more than 20 years, and yes it's worked out well for him in terms of longevity. That voice is still wonderful too :D
