Biography
There are multiple artists called Hand:
1. Hand were formed in Switzerland in 1972 as a progressive folk/rock band consisting of Marc Osborne, Nick Zoullas and Tony Angier. They released the album Everybody's Own in the same year before breaking up, but Osborne and Zoullas would reform the band in 2013 following an April reunion concert in Connecticut, USA.
2. HAND is a solo project by Berlin-based musician Sascha Bachmann., who creates experimental sounds and dance beats. He has performed his tape loop project live in Berlin and New York and on stage uses a tape machine as well as projections of old super 8 movies. By scratching the film and using colours or chemicals, he creates patterns and abstract landscapes.
3. hAND are a three piece progressive/alternative/gothic metal band from Sussex, England, founded by Kat Ward and Kieren Johnstone in 2004 as a rock/metal/electronica duo. They released their first EP, Chapters, and were joined in early 2006 by local drummer Cris Nelson with the music taking on a heavier more progressive edge. “Shadow: Word Pain” showed off the new sound, and a new sponsorship with Mapex drums, with the band landing their first record deal with Copro Records in 2007.
Recorded at Philia Studios with producer Nick Hemingway (Isor, Cancer, Desecration), the debut album, Deadroom Journal, was a turning point for the band, receiving high praise from UK and international press, and seeing them playing gigs across the country supporting acts such as 3rd Room (Italy), Ayin Aleph (France) ,Octavia Sperati (Norway) and Delain (Netherlands), as well as earning them future festival appearances at Damsels of Destruction, Femme Metal Festival and Fest-fatale. In December 2008, hAND signed to Femme Metal Records.
4. HAND are a psychedelic garage rock band from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
