File Transfer Protocol is the product of a
post industrial sound which originated in the fading steel towns of north eastern Ohio. A combination of driving distorted guitars, mangled synths, processors and other various electronic gadgetry helps project an overall foreboding sound that effectively paints a picture of isolation and introspection. This area of the country also spawned such bands as
Filter,
Nine Inch Nails,
Tool,
DEVO,
DINK and
Marilyn Manson.
