Me and my friend flew to Dublin to see the Maestro perform in a park, back in 2013. We missed that it was outside, so we weren't dressed for the cold weather. We were about to freeze to death, but thank Jebus for booze.

It's OK that he is mostly known for a couple of scores, but let's not forget his great versatility! So many different kinds of music he did, some of which are pretty wild. Sure, some are very dated too. Point is, please, try his lesser known work!

I've watched a couple of spaghetti westerns lately, and the best thing about all of them was the music, somehow his style is instantly recognizable,

Truly a great Italian maestro. Who was a soundtrack composing, genius. His music reinforced the plot, and added to the intensity of the scenes. Been a fan of Morricone's since "A Fistful of Dollars". Always knocked-out by so many wonderful melodies. The oboe solo on "Goodbye Colonel" is very poignant. Played to the hilt by actor Lee Van Cleef. The "Musical Pocket Watch" is absolutely brilliant too! Not to mention, "Silhouette of Doom" from the film 'Navajo Joe', with those pounding kettle drums. You can't review Ennio's music without inclusion of his use of the lonely, whistler. Especially, on tracks like: "Dopo L' esplosione" from 'A Fistful of Dynamite', or "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". If one tune exemplifies the maestro, perhaps it's his "Lust For Gold"; orchestration, voice, and dynamic movement, are all there to be enjoyed! Peace, friend! Your music is your everlasting legacy.

Although death is the best thing which can happen to a man, in that case I am a bit sad, because egoistic part of me, which still left inside, wants more of his music. Who else can make a melody like him today? He was a greatest composer of our times. Our own Vivaldi.

Here's to you Ennio Morricone. Rest forever here in our hearts. R.I.P.

Вклад Морриконе в кинематограф, конечно, колоссальный - это и старые фильмы Ардженто и Пазолини, и замечательный фильм "Площадь Сан-Бабила, 20 часов", и поздний Тарантино, и бессмертные мелодии из "Долларовой трилогии", и еще много чего другого, иногда кажется, что он успел охватить вообще всё, да и уйти из жизни в 91 год, до последнего занимаясь делом своей жизни и посвятив ему более полувека, дано точно не каждому, а посему надеюсь, что неадекватных комментариев с размазыванием розовых соплей, как было в рупоре Бенинктона или Боуи, тут не будет.

Thanks you for you music. One of my hero's and true inspirations. ♥
