Love that they start Sanguivore with a direct nod to "The Phantom of the Opera." It's like they're telling everyone what they're about to experience in the most direct way possible. Amazing record.

2 years ago I distinctly asked on this shoutbox for more Hannah and you give us 0 Hannah with the new album. 10 songs and there wasn't room for even 1 Hannah??? I will never forgive this injustice

Yea in the background or in spurts but I was looking forward to songs where she took the lead :(

I was hoping for her to have more lead parts and the opposite happened. Still a very good album, though.

Well, the special edition has two songs where Hannah's got lead vocals (and they're both pretty nice... especially "Phantom Fantasia").

I was hoping for something more upbeat and fun like "Ghosts Over Cavalry," rather than just some ballads. These are good but I still think they're wasting her talents

I love that Sex, Death, & the Infinite Void was a self-conscious attempt by Creeper to distance themselves from the My Chemical Romance comparisons that often sounds a lot like The Black Parade-era MCR, because their version of "discovering themselves" as a band was looking to Bowie and the other theatrical rock bands of the 70s... which was exaclty what MCR did when writing TBP.

"We were constantly told we sounded like [MCR, Alkaline Trio, etc.], but none of them actually sounded similar to us. It was impossible to sound like us. I wanted us to be our own thing... We love those bands, but it got to the point where it felt like a lazy comparison. By the end of it, I was literally saying ‘If I have to answer another question about somebody else’s band I’m going to go crazy’ – I think it’s important to level with these things and build something brand new." - Will Gould, describing the writing and recording of SD&TIV.

Just found this band and I already hooked it ♥ the vocalist's voice is awful familiar and I dunno why though.

Legitimately the first time I've listened to a band from my hometown, where I still live. I dig it. It's catchy. Hope they do well

I'm glad Hannah gets more of a spotlight on this EP, she should definitely do lead vox on more songs in the future.

They've definitely upped the ante with "Sex, Death & the Infinite Void". It's more diverse than "Eternity, in Your Arms" (which I still love btw!) and even more theatrical. I'm very much into it and am under the impression this band can do no wrong.

My sentence is for open War; Of Wiles, More unexpert, I boast not: them let those Contrive who need, or when they need, not now. For while they sit contriving, shall the rest, Millions that stand in Arms, and longing wait The Signal to ascend, sit ling'ring here, Heav'n's fugitives, and for their dwelling place Accept this dark opprobrious Den of shame, The Prison of his Tyranny who Reigns By our delay? no, let us rather choose, Arm'd with Hell flames and fury all at once O'er Heaven's high Tow'rs to force resistless way, Turning our Tortures into horrid Arms Against the Torturer.

https://www.altpress.com/news/creeper-paranormal-video-teasers-instagram/ Doesn't appear that they actually broke up. "Eternity, in Your Arms" was pretty great so I'm stoked for whatever they do next.

It's a shame about Misery, Crickets and I Choose to Live. Damp, ploddy moments on an otherwise excellent album.

Agree to disagree! It's grown on me a bit since I first heard it, but still not up to the standard of the rest of the record.
